I guess because "wtf" isn't really targeted towards anyone as "ez" obviously is, that's just what I think. I don't know...

Chat filters are barely effective anyway, because people can always type it slightly different in a way that's still very obvious what the word is.

Everyone knows 'wtf' doesn't mean 'what the heck is this' people who use it know exactly what they're saying. I don't really find the word 'ez' offensive - just means the word 'easy' which to me is an ordinary every day word that people use in day to day life. People are only offended by the word 'ez' if they're childish, in my opinion.
