just hold your spacebar. It will make the backlash considerably smaller and won't give you any fall damage.

It'll still be annoying when you land on it. It's better to use cobwebs if you're falling from heights and stick to other blocks when block running.

I suppose, but cobwebs also has the benefit of trapping players.

I can see why you wanna add this blocks but i think that slimeblocks would bea bit to op to add. Via this block you can break fall damage and you can just down on the block just to get higher in the trees or something. The slime block will give a big advantage. I don't realy see why you wanna add an ice block ? I have to agree on the Soul Sand. It can be used as a strategy. If someone is hunting you , you can just place the block down and the play will be slower so he can't get you anymore.
