It would be unfair if someone who was Obsidian became staff then resigned/got demoted and got nothing out of it and someone with a lower rank got staff then upgraded. Wouldn't be fair so not a good idea.

As for the idea, staff volunteer to do the work. They do not get paid. I do think that we should some appreciation for staff, as long as they have not done something bad. I think they should get a tag saying 'Ret' or 'Retired'

I would like this is a staff member like @Younisco for example had an emerald rank if he was demoted/resigned he would keep his rank which I think is already the case but giving them an obby rank out of the blue is something I wouldn't want

Resigned or demoted Staff Members should not get a free Obsidian rank. Players who thank you for being a Staff Member would be more acceptable than a free rank, in my opinion.
