Regarding Pika-Network Copying Cubecraft

I've seen videos of a server called pika network with "Egg wars" in it. It has the exact same concept and in this video (

) and in this video (

) they both have used maps created by you. I'm not sure if you really approve and know about this. I'm just pointing it out.

Many servers have copied CubeCraft's eggwars too, I'm not sure if CubeCraft are going to do anything about it.
I mean, I guess there isn't much they can do.

At least some servers have made an effort to change it about a bit, like SkyGiants.

Copying a game is bad but not illegal. However if they took some of cubecrafts maps that might be illegal since some servers have some kind of copyright on their maps. Thats all I know but @Mac should be able to give a correct answer on this because my answer is just speculation and general knowledge.

Copying the maps isn't right though. Something can be done about that I think. Hard work to do that something but

They can't obviously do anything about the game itself. There is a Eggwars spigot plugin, I think. But don't quote me on that.
It should be possible to put a trademark on the title Eggwars, though.

While for the maps, considering they are works, more specifically art works, can not be used if not under proper license.

This would be, if our maps are copyrighted. I am not aware of that.

They aren't the only server with Eggwars. Some other servers have that title too. Again, with copied maps.

While it would be impossible to protect from plagiarism if they have alternate maps and an alternate name, even though the concept is the same, for example "BedWars" where you have to break the opponent's bed to prevent him from respawning.

Bed Wars doesn't sound as cool though. I don't understand why people would play on there when they can just play on CCG

I know right, the maps look SOOOO plain and the way that tokens work is just TRASH

That kit though runs right to the egg and puts obby on it! In 2 seconds there are people with full iron. I would not play this.
