Why would that be usefull? It's not that if you ask for lock, you get lock. Staff members only lock when nescesary. ;)

You have a point, but you have to stay serious. You clearly see that this thread isn't finished yet, but when you see it, there's no problem for asking a lock. Most of the time people start about a new concept and then the thread is useless. :P

I indeed didn't stay serious there, but I still think only staff members or the maker of a thread should be the only ones that decide if something has to be locked or not.

If it's offensive or inappropriate, report it.
If it's and advertisement, report it.
If it's a polite and mature post, give your opinion and let other people give their opinion too.
If it's a question that has been answered, let it be until a staff member confirms the correct answer.

I fell double about this, if this gets added, this will be a lot more clearly to see. But on the other side, if the owner of the thread is maybe on vacation and everybody is spamming that thread, what do we do then? ;)

I think its fine as it is, its not like a player requesting a thread lock automatically gets it locked. The final decision still comes down to a staff member.

In most cases yes, but more often than not, especially with newer staff, some threads get locked down when the discussion is still open, which is extremely frustrating...
