0. Introduction
I am not trying to criticize CubeCraft.
I like CubeCraft because of its KB mechanics and the existence of critical hits. (Although right now, it might be about 50/50.)
I will explain my reasons below.
1. Server Lag
Recently, CubeCraft has been experiencing massive lag even if you simply stay AFK in a lobby for a few minutes (5–10 minutes), making it impossible to switch lobbies or do other things normally.
2. EggWars Shop Has Been Extremely Laggy Since v.26.50 (as of September 18)
Ever since v.26.50 was released for Minecraft, the EggWars Shop has become extremely laggy.
3. The Nightmare of SBMM
CubeCraft implemented SBMM.
For top Asian players, this is the worst.
When a top Asian player queues, the system cannot find enough other top Asian players, so they get connected to the EU/NA regions where other top EU/NA players are playing.
When Asian players connect to EU/NA, their ping exceeds 300ms, and for NA, it can exceed 350ms.
This is not Skill Based Matchmaking. It is simply favoring EU/NA players.
4. The Number of Hackers and Problems with Sentinel
This is such a well-known topic on the Forums that I don’t even need to explain much about it.
Because Sentinel is barely functioning, hackers are being left unchecked.
5. Finally
There are other issues as well, but these are the main reasons.
I think many East Asian players, including Japanese and Korean players, who still play CubeCraft do so because there are certain things they like about CubeCraft.
The reason I say this is because CubeCraft’s Asia Region is located in Singapore, while Hive and Lifeboat have their Asia Regions in Japan.
In fact, when I connect to them, my ping is around 30–50ms on Hive, 40–75ms on Lifeboat, and 115–140ms on CubeCraft.
To be honest, even with the already-high ping, I continued playing CubeCraft after the introduction of SBMM. But now, I no longer feel like playing PvP on CubeCraft.
If SBMM were removed, I would still have a reason to stay on CubeCraft.
Best Regards
