Too much 1.9 only

Hi there,
I'm Cyriandil and just got this simple point I would like to make!

I've noticed that every gamemode except Skywars/Eggwars is 1.9+ only, I get that the server wants to be up to date and I have to say that you guys are! But I personally am not a fan of the 1.9+ update and would love to see the PvP gamemodes also available in 1.8. I hope you guys will think about this.

Survival games and lucky islands should get 1.8 compatibility soon.

If I'm correct that would mean that shields would not be available, and I think being able to use a shield makes PvP a lot more fun, but this is just my opinion.

1.9 is skill2win or bowspam2win or pots2win or strat2win
1.8 is spam2win or hacks2win I dont see why people like 1.8 pvp but ok. Support for other gamemodes will be added over time.
