Hai humans,
I just read this thread, which proposes adding story-driven quests to the server. I love the potential of the idea, and want to expand on it. Why are quests a good idea? Well, because although each player can only complete them once, they can get people to not only play new games, but to play them a lot! Take for example, the quest 'The Shattered Prince', which asks the player in one step to get twenty wins in Ultra Hardcore. You know, that game that takes a while to play, and can be quite deserted at times?

It also adds immersion to Cubecraft. You are actually speaking to characters who live in this world, and helping them out with mundane tasks that would be boring in any other context. It makes the server feel alive, and more like a real place that you want to actually be a part of.

New NPCs
New NPCs can be found across the entire server, which can be interacted with for a handful of tips in their respective gamemodes. They can also be used to advance through quests.

Haul, the combat master - Located in the Survival Games lobby - Gives tips relating to combat strategies
Apollo, the music man - Located in the Blockband lobby - Gives tips relating to Blockband
Storm, the recreation master- Located in the Arcade lobby - Gives information on points, trophies, and cubelets
Juniper, the weapons artist - Located in the PvP lobby -
Gives information regarding DPS and weapons
Paul, the gold swindler - Located in the Minerware lobby - Gives tips relating to Minerware
Steven, the hacker - Located in the Ultra-Hardcore lobby - Gives tips relating to Ultra-Hardcore
Dory, blacksmith - Located in the Tower Defence lobby - Gives tips relating to Tower Defence
Vitria, the valkyrie - Located in the Skywars lobby - Gives tips relating to Skywars
Alice, the marksman - Located in the Eggwars lobby - Gives tips relating to Eggwars
Edwyn, the majestic - Located in the Cube City library [HUB] -Gives random facts about Cubecraft
Cubey, the feline hero - Stuck beneath a water park somewhere [Future HUB?!?]

NPC Lore

Haul, the combat master

Haul is the Survival Games NPC. She has blond hair and a set of iron and diamond armour.
She was once an epic warrior who discovered, and later stood guard, at the Gates to Atlantis long ago, letting only Emerald+ ranks enter the grand city. One day, when the Gods of Cubecraft updated the server, Atlantis went missing. It was instead, replaced with a strange cliff side of sorts, and a funny new system which allowed people to team up with one another in Survival Games. She longs to find Atlantis once again, though has gotten so old at this point, that she doubts she'll ever find it again in her lifetime. She claims to be a combat master, and mumbles of an upcoming war between the players and the Cubecraft Gods, because they won't give the players what they want.

Apollo, the music man
Apollo is the Blockband NPC. He has white leather armour, and carries a harp with him.
He looks anxious at all times, as if he's worried he'll someday be removed by the Cubecraft Gods. He created the Blockband Venue after being the first person to understand the power of song. See, when he was sailing to the land of Cubecraft from the distant plains of High Pickles, he was sung to by a mob of sirens. He was so tempted to dive into the water and swim for the creatures, but knew he would drown if he did so. The creatures sang on, louder and louder, until he couldn't take it anymore. He began to sing himself, at the top of his lungs until his divine voice blocked out the sound of the sirens completely. He is now eager to encourage anybody and everybody to partake in musical revelry, though nobody seems interested. In fact, they think he's annoying and want him gone, but the Cube Gods seem to have other plans for him.

Storm, the recreation master
Storm is the Arcade NPC. He has iron armour, and a funny-looking hat with an 'M' on his head.
He sailed to Cubecraft from a distant, now extinct land, which was taken over by riots after the Rank Equality Act of 2014 was passed by the Minecraft Titans (Mojang). When he arrived at the gates of Cube City, he quickly came to realise that the Rank Equality Act of 2014 had been passed all across Minecraft, and not just in his home server. 'Could this be the end of Minecraft?' he thought to himself. Players were creating petitions, looting points that didn't belong to them, and even defying the Cubecraft Gods as if it were their fault. Cube City was in chaos, until Storm came up with an idea!

Storm proposed allowing everybody to unlock fancy outfits by playing minigames. However, he also proposed giving the better ranked players fancier outfits, and a special type of currency with no actual value, to keep them happy for the time being. He found a trash can filled with small blue cubes, and assigned them a superficially inflated value. Lastly, he gave everybody a chance to get one of these cubes by playing games, and told people that they could exchange their blue cubes for outfit pieces. Suddenly, everybody was so eager to play minigames to get the cool looking outfits, that they forgot all about why they were upset in the first place! Storm had saved Cube City from destruction, and is now referred to as the recreation master. He will be happy to talk about minigames and currencies, but will be silent at the mention of his home server.

Juniper, the weapons artist
Juniper is the PvP NPC. He has ginger hair and duel-wields diamond swords.
He is a weapons artist, and will recommend players all sorts of wacky weapons. Realistically though, he doesn't look much older than eighteen, and there are doubts towards the legitimacy of his combat skills. He has been called a hacker countless times by various zombies and creepers, and so, to demonstrate to the Cubecraftians that his skills are genuine, he and his ego created the Cube Combat Arena. It is here, that duels take place, wars are waged, and assassinations are commonplace. Never challenge Juniper to a fight, you'll only regret it when he brags to everybody about how he totally had eight hearts left by the end of it.

Paul, the gold swindler
Paul is the Minerware NPC, and he likes money. He wears a yellow hat with a 'W' on it, and matching leather.
He is dubbed "the gold swindler", for his profound ability to pick pockets, sell shoddy weapons, and to rig the games that he bets on. In fact, some believe him to have founded the Microgame Emporium, where players compete for cheap prizes in front of hundreds of spectators. Are the games rigged? Paul will never say so, but then he's the kind of guy that will sell you a counterfeit cubelet for a thousand points, so you can never really take his word for anything. You're a poor soul if you need a favour from this guy.

Steven, the hacker
Steven is the Ultra-hardcore NPC, and boy does he look familiar. In fact, he looks just like Steve.
Steven is the most disliked of the Cube City residents, always denying his use of hacks yet refusing to fight Juniper in his arena. He has been banned countless times by the Cubecraft Gods, yet always makes the excuse that he was lagging or that the sun was in his eyes, meaning that he had to turn on hacks, otherwise it was unfair. In fact, he enjoys hacking so much, that he founded Ultra-hardcore, a game that allowed him to use certain hacks without getting caught. His favourite of these hacks, he calls X-Ray. Some say he got ten thousand wins in a weekend using his hacks, but his skills will never be tested again. No he wasn't banned, but he did retire a week after the Cubecraft God Sentinel was sired. Nowadays, he spends his time gambling his points away to Paul, and wonders in frustration why he never wins any of his bets. I guess there really is no honour among thieves.

Dory, the blacksmith
Dory is the Tower Defence NPC. She has black hair and leather armour.
Dory grew up in an epic feud between two different types of Cubecraftian, those who wanted to spam their swords, and those who wanted there to be more skill involved in PvP. When the war got especially bad, Dory concluded that war was inevitable, and created a batch of prototype machines that would slay any and all spam-clicking 1.8 players on sight. Her favourite was a lightning tower, which she named after the man that powered it. He handed her a thunderbolt to power the tower, and would not stop looking at her in a very funny way. Dory was ready for anything, armed with tall, towering machines, until the Cube Gods intervened. They created a duplicate reality, and pushed all the 1.8 players to it. The 1.8 players were happy, playing their two favourite games in the old fashion that they enjoyed. Dory was relieved, and decided to assign her silly old towers a greater purpose: defending Cube City from rogue monsters. She now protects the walls of the city, and everybody in it.

Vitria, the valkyrie
Vitria is the Skywars NPC. She has purple skin, angel wings, and an iron sword in her off-hand.
Vitria, like Dory, grew up during the epic feud between the two types of Cubecraftian. She was assigned by the Cubecraft Gods to decide which side should win the war. Vitria was a 1.8 fan herself, and wanted her own side to win. She handed her players epic rapiers, but they simply couldn't deal much damage in the 1.9 version of reality. She just knew there had to be a way for the 1.8 faction to win, but how? That's when she created the Hate Bomb, an epic weapon capable of vanquishing any and all players who were smart enough to time their attacks. She also knitted these neat little dolls, and gave one to each 1.8 player. Whenever their possessor was crucially harmed, the dolls would choose to die in their place.

Vitria was ready to take Cube City with her army. They approached the great walls, and were forced into retreating by tall, towering machines that were firing TNT and arrows from afar. Vitria concluded that Dory's machines were simply too powerful to be beaten, and begged the Cubecraft Gods for mercy and salvation for her people. They pitied Vitria and her mortals, and created a second world for them to occupy. Though, they weren't pleased with her invention of the dolls, for they despised dark magic. They banished her to the skies, where she would never have any influence over Cube City affairs ever again... at least, the legend goes. Vitria of course, denies that any of this ever happened.

Alice, the marksman
Alice is the Eggwars NPC. She has ginger hair, ordinary leather armour, and an enchanted bow.
She used to be a fantastic predator, alongside her mythical hound which would never fail to catch whatever it was hunting... that is, until she encountered the Blackbird. The Blackbird is the name she gave to a massive dragon, that few overhead and laid a nest of peculiar eggs. The eggs, Alice realised, would bring anybody who touched them back from the dead. She knew that if the Cubecraft Gods were to hear of dark magic existing on their server, they would not be pleased! She also knew that if these eggs fell into the wrong hands, evil would be unstoppable. She founded a minigame that tricked unsuspecting players into shattering as many of these eggs as possible, in the spirit of "PvP". She would not dare tell the players that by playing it, they're stopping evil from progressing, thereby saving the city. She wouldn't want them to get too full of themselves. To prevent the Blackbird from hatching more of these eggs, she set her hound upon it. Her hound would never fail to catch whatever it was hunting...

Edwyn, the majestic
Edwyn is a funny old man in a purple coat, who hides out at the Cube City library.
Nobody really knows much about him, though he tells great tales about the "old times". He seems to be ancient, thousands of years old, for he speaks of the days when the Shattered Prince ruled the lands, or how a brilliant architect was turned into a gingerbread man. His beard may be big, but his imagination is so much bigger. It's safe to assume that Edwyn is the oldest living resident of Cube City, causing Alice to suspect that perhaps she wasn't the first to discover the Blackbird and its magical eggs.

Cubey, the feline hero
Cubey was the first creation of the Cubecraft Gods, a feline Demigod who went missing long ago. Some say that Cubey rebelled against the Cubecraft Gods, and they subsequently removed him from existence. Others say that Cubey went to a water park one day and got stuck. One thing is for sure: Cubey is a hero. Hundreds of years ago, before Cube City got its name, an evil tyrant now known as the Shattered Prince ruled the land. He enslaved the players, forcing them to place blocks to build him palaces and houses. Cubey defeated the Shattered Prince in combat, wounding him and forcing him out of the city. Cubey became the first elected king of Cube City, and Edwyn speaks of how he was a fantastic runner would could make four-block jumps with ease.

Quest One - The Shattered Prince
This quest begins in the HUB, where one of the previously empty buildings has since become a library. Go to said library, and you'll find a book which will fill you in on the details of the quest:

Long ago, in the 'frozen' ruin that was once Cube City, a great prince ruled unchallenged. He was malevolent, forcing his subjects to build houses and roads for him using strange blocks, and banning them if they did not comply. He ate like royalty, consuming apples with coats of gold, whilst his starving supplicants ate rotten flesh and raw fish. Then one day, a feline hero who went by the name of Cubey, approached his gilded throne. Cubey refused to work, and challenged the prince to a duel for the city. The prince had an ego the size of Mars, but fought like Venus. Cubey ultimately shattered the prince's reputation, and he left the city. Nobody knew what happened to the shattered prince, until now. He has risen from his hiding place, a cave of sorts to the far south of the city. What's worse, is that the epic hero Cubey hasn't been seen in years (some accounts claim that he got himself stuck beneath a water park), and if the Shattered Prince regains his powers, he may threaten the city once again. Your task, hero, is simple: train yourself to kill the Shattered Prince, before he ever reaches Cube City.

Step one - Speak to Haul, the combat master

The player, once they have accepted the quest, will be tasked with speaking to Haul. She is situated in the Survival Games lobby, just in front of the spawn. She will give the player some advice on beating the Shattered Prince, but you'll have to prove yourself first.

Step two - Win ten games of Survival Games

The player will be asked by Haul to complete ten games of Survival Games (previous wins will not count). Once they've done this, they can return to Haul. She will give the player 150 experience, 1 cubelet, and some advice: when the Shattered Prince enchants his mighty sword, he will one-shot you. You should stun the Shattered Prince to prevent this. Haul will then advise that you speak to Juniper, the weapons artist, for a weapon capable of freezing the Shattered Prince.

Step three - Speak to Juniper, the weapons artist

The player must head to the PvP hub, where they'll find Juniper. He'll be by a display of weapons that have shown up out of nowhere, in front of the spawn. You explain the situation, and he tells you that he has a prototype weapon capable of immobilising any target on contact. But of course, he won't just give you this weapon.

Step four - Kill one hundred players in KitPvP or Assassins

You have to demonstrate your worth by killing a hundred players in FFA or Assassins (previous kills will not count). Only then, will Juniper give you his prototype weapon. Once you've bullied a hundred people, you can return to Juniper. He'll hand you a wooden hoe, and regrets to inform you that the weapon will not work yet. No, it needs a component called the Petrifier before it will function. He advises that you speak to Paul, the gold swindler. He'll also give you 300 experience and 2 cubelets.

Step five - Speak to Paul, the gold swindler

Next, you have to go to the Minerware lobby and find Paul, the gold swindler. After explaining the situation, Paul flashes the Petrifier. Of course, he isn't going to just give this to you, either. He wants a bit of gold before he forks over what it is that you need. Where do you find gold? Well, apparently there's a lot of it inside chests. Only problem is, they're in the sky.

Step six - Get the gold

The player must now play Skywars. How many games exactly? Well, it depends. See, you'll have a 1/25 chance of winning the gold upon winning a match. You could get it on your first win, or your twenty-first win. Once you have it, return it to Paul. He'll give you the Petrifier, which upgrades your wooden hoe into a diamond one. He'll tell you that although you can freeze the Shattered Prince, you'll need a safe way to damage him from afar. He recommends you to Alice, the marksman. He also hands you a couple of strange blue cubes that he can't find a use for, which you identify as cubelets.

Step seven - Speak to Alice, the marksman

Head to the Eggwars lobby, and speak to the red-haired archer by the signpost. She'll not hand over her bow, but tells you where you can get your own.

Step eight - Get a bow

Head into a game of Eggwars, and survive long enough to purchase any bow. It's that simple! Now return to Alice, because that bow will need enchanting. Alice hands you a well-crafted arrow, and a couple of points. She tells you to speak to Edwyn, the majestic.

Step nine - Speak to Edwyn, the majestic

The player now needs to go to the library in the HUB, where they'll find Edwyn stood behind a bunch of books and an enchanting table. After filling him in, the long-bearded Edwyn wipes his dark purple sleeve and offers the player his services: He will enchant your bow in exchange for the Alchemist's Quill. You don't really know what this is, but agree to get it for him. He explains that it's rumoured to have been lost in a place where hardcore players fight.

Step ten - Get the Alchemist's Quill

Hope you're in the mood for Ultra Hardcore, because you'll be playing it for a while. The player must get twenty wins in Ultra Hardcore to get the Alchemist's Quill. After your tenth win, you'll receive the enchanted feather and must return it to Edwyn. Upon doing so, he'll explain that it's a magical pen that will turn any ordinary sheet of paper into solid gold. After expressing a deep regret for handing over such a valuable artifact, the player's bow is given Infinity I. Edwyn reckons you're all geared up now, and gives you 500 experience for your troubles. He recommends you go fight the Shattered Prince at long last!

Step eleven - Locate the Shattered Prince

The player now has to go south of the HUB. Here, you'll find a totally not out of place door, that will transport you to a totally different game upon opening it. You'll spawn in at a cave entrance, equipped with your Petrifier and a full set of iron gear. Skeletons and zombies stir beneath the cave, and it is your job to reach the bottom of it. There will be challenges to overcome all the way through, from monsters to tough jumps, to traversing ravines occupied by skeletons using nothing more than a poorly made bridge.

Step twelve - Kill the Shattered Prince

Once you've reached the bottom of the cavern, you'll spot the Shattered Prince in a well-lit arena. He's a zombie with full diamond armour, and a spiteful diamond sword. The player will be given a golden apple to help them with the fight, but it won't do much good if the Shattered Prince can one-shot them. The player should begin attacking the Shattered Prince immediately, because after twenty-five seconds, his sword will become enchanted. When this happens, fire your Petrifier at him to freeze him in place. The Petrifier will shoot a snowball, but it takes twenty seconds to recharge, so do not miss! Once the Shattered Prince is frozen, he'll not move for the rest of the fight. Open fire at him, and he'll eventually die.

Step thirteen - Return the book to the library

The player has slayed the Shattered Prince, bringing Cube City back to safe hands. Since you've documented the entire quest, you should return the book to the library. After all, people will soon read it and learn about how you saved the city! Upon returning the book to the library, the player will receive:
-1,000 experience
-500 points
-5 cubelets
-Zombie pet cosmetic

Quest two - Penance of a Valkyrie
This quest begins by speaking to Vitria, the Skywars NPC. She explains that she once used dark magic to help the 1.8 players defeat the 1.9 players in a great battle, and was exiled to the sky by the Cubecraft Gods. She wants forgiveness, and needs your help to get it. After all, she's not allowed to leave the sky.

Step one - Speak to Vitria
First of all, speak to Vitria in the Skywars lobby. She explains her situation to you, but before she can confront the Cubecraft Gods and ask for forgiveness, she needs to make amends with the Cube City residents. She asks you go to Dory, and ask her to forgive Vitria.

Step two - Speak to Dory
Head to Dory. She's not keen on forgiving Vitria, though will do so if she can prove she's really sorry. Dory has been having trouble lately with an increase in monsters, and could do with a hand cutting their numbers down a bit. She wants Vitria to kill 5,000 monsters in Tower Defence. Because Vitria cannot leave the sky, you'll have to do it for her.

Step three - Kill 5,000 monsters in Tower Defence
Head into Tower Defence, and kill 5,000 monsters for Vitria. Once you've done this, go back to Dory and she'll forgive Vitria. She'll also give you 250 experience and a cubelet for your efforts.

Step four - Speak to Vitria
Go back to Vitria, and she'll tell you that she needs forgiveness from Apollo next. Apparently, she insulted his gamemode when he offered to add it to her 1.8 server, claiming that she would never subject her people to such torture.

Step five - Speak to Apollo
Head to Blockband, and speak to Apollo. He'll tell you that he's willing to forgive, but he wants something in return. He wants you to bring Alice to him for some company, because he gets lonely in his venue. Though, Alice says she won't go because Apollo's singing is dreadful. Unless...

Step six - Break thirty eggs in Eggwars
Alice will only visit Apollo if you break thirty eggs in Eggwars for her. Speak to her after doing so, followed by Apollo. He'll give you 500 experience and two cubelets.

Step seven - Speak to Vitria
She's pretty pleased that she's found forgiveness from two of the people she has wronged. There's just one person left: Edwyn. Edwyn is also willing to forgive, though wants to see Vitria fight for good rather than evil before he does so. He wants to see her win a hundred Survival Games matches, and by her, he means you.

Step eight - Win 100 Survival Games matches
Once you've played your way through a hundred Survival Games victories (phew!), you can return to Edwyn. He'll forgive Vitria.

Step nine - Speak to Vitria
Speak to Vitria, and she'll thank you. She'll also fork over 1,000 experience, 500 points, five cubelets, and an elytra that you can equip via the vanity menu! She heads off to the Cubecraft Gods, who sadly deny her request for forgiveness. Her penance continues, forever exiled to the sky.

Quest three - Rebirth of a Champion
This quest begins by speaking to Haul in the Survival Games lobby. She misses being the greatest fighter alive, and wants to relive the old days. Though, she doesn't want to fight with her shoddy old armour and weapons; she wants new gear.

Step one - Speak to Haul
Haul explains the issue to you, and asks that you find her a fancy new set of gear. She insists on finding a new bow first, which means speaking to Alice.

Step two - Speak to Alice
After explaining the situation, Alice offers one of her spare bows. Though first, you have to kill a hundred players in Eggwars to prove you can handle such a mighty weapon.

Step three - Kill a hundred players in Eggwars
After killing a hundred players in Eggwars, return to Alice. She'll hand you the bow, which you should give to Haul

Step four - Speak to Haul
Speak to Haul, and hand her the bow. She'll give you 250 experience and a cubelet, and will now ask for a new set of armour. Dory probably has a set, she says.

Step five - Speak to Dory
Speak to Dory in the Tower Defence lobby, and ask for a set of armour. She says she'll give you everything but a chestplate, in exchange for cutting down the number of monsters that are outside the city.

Step six - Win thirty games of Tower Defence
After winning thirty games of Tower Defence, Dory will give you a set of diamond armour, minus a chestplate. Take these to Haul

Step seven - Speak to Haul
Speak to Haul, and give her the armour. She'll give you 500 experience and a cubelet, and will now insist on finding a chestplate. 'Perhaps a shady-looking hustler has one lying around?' she suggests.

Step seven - Buy a chestplate from a hustler
Find Paul in the Minerware lobby, and ask if he has a spare chestplate lying around. He'll offer to sell you it, but it isn't cheap! You'll have to pay 5,000 points for the hunk of junk, else he won't part with it! Buy the chestplate, and bring it to Haul

Step eight - Speak to Haul
Hand the chestplate to Haul, and she'll give you 50 points for your troubles. Suppress your anger and eagerness to punch her in the eyebrow, and she'll ask you to find her a sword. Then, she'll be ready to fight again!

Step nine - Speak to Juniper
Find Juniper in the PvP lobby. The weapon artist will offer you a fine blade, but you've gotta win a two-hundred duels first. I hope you're good at PvP, because he won't give you the sword if you're not!

Step ten - Win two-hundred duels
After boosting winning two-hundred duels, speak to Juniper again. He'll hand you a well-crafted blade to give to Haul

Step eleven - Speak to Haul
Hand Haul the sword, and she'll tell you that it isn't good enough, and couldn't cut through a stick of butter. She wants it enchanted, which means visiting Edwyn

Step twelve - Speak to Edwyn
Edwyn will enchant the blade, but he wants something in return. He's always wanted to try out those funny looking cubelet machines, but because he doesn't play minigames himself, he's never had a cubelet before. He wants twenty cubelets in exchange for enchanting your sword

Step thirteen - Give Edwyn twenty cubelets
Once you've handed a hefty twenty cubelets over to Edwyn, he'll enchant your sword for you. Now, try not to kill Haul with it, and give it to her instead. She'll give you 1,000 experience, 500 points, and a pair of Speed I boots that can be equipped via the Vanity menu. She says she won't be needing them anymore, as she has a new pair!

Quest four - The Blackbird Pursuit
This quest begins by speaking to Alice, in the Eggwars lobby.

Step one - Speak to Alice
Speak to Alice in the Eggwars lobby. She mentions how her trusted hound hasn't returned yet from chasing the mythical Blackbird, and it has never failed to catch its prey before. She needs somebody to find her hound. To prove that you're up for it, complete twenty-five games of Eggwars.

Step two - Complete twenty-five games of Eggwars
You do not need to win these games, you just need to be there when the game ends. Once you've completed twenty-five games of Eggwars, speak to Alice again and she will begin to trust you. She hands you a cubelet, and mentions that the Blackbird flies very high above the clouds. 'Perhaps Vitria has seen it?' she suggests.

Step three - Speak to Vitria
Vitria informs you that she can take you to the Sky Temple for two-hundred points, where she swears she saw something fly over not long ago. You sigh, and hand her the points. She then takes you to the old Cubecraft HUB, the one in the sky from 2014. You find that it's inhabited by endermen

Step four - Find the Blackbird tracker
Using your trusty set of iron gear, carefully kill an enderman. If you die, you'll respawn in the HUB, and will have to pay Vitria again to come back here. After killing an enderman, you'll receive a Blackbird tracker (eye of ender). Take it to Alice

Step five - Speak to Alice
Alice will take the Blackbird tracker and claim that the Blackbird is in a place where luck and skill unite.

Step six - Slay the Blackbird
Head into Lucky Islands, and spawn the Enderdragon by breaking a lucky block. This will not happen every time, so you may have to play a few games before encountering it. Deal the finishing blow to the monster to complete this step

Step seven - Speak to Alice
Return to Alice and explain that you killed the mythical Blackbird. Alice will explain that the Blackbird will never truly die, that it likely vanished back to its home realm. Her hound has returned to her though, which means you're in need of a reward: She gives you 1,000 experience, 500 points, and 2 cubelets.

Quest five - The Shattered King
This quest begins by speaking to Steven in the Ultra-Hardcore lobby, once 'The Shattered Prince' has been completed.

Step one - Speak to Steven
Steven seems pretty worked up, for he found a book in the Cube City library titled 'The Shattered Prince'. Hey, it's the book that you wrote in the quest that shares the same name! Turns out, the book has rewritten itself, predicting the future. According to the book, you wounded the Shattered Prince, angering the otherwise passive villain. He returns to Cube City and kills everything in it, overthrows the Cubecraft Gods and becomes a king, and sinks the land of Cubecraft deeper than Atlantis! Steven suggests that you stop the Shattered King, before he can make it to Cube City and kill everybody. He recommends asking around for some advice.

Step two - speak to Alice
Speak to Alice in the Eggwars lobby. She tells you that the Shattered King likely has at least a couple of Blackbird eggs in his possession, and that unless you can break them, you'll never defeat the king. She suggests you practice breaking them, by destroying a hundred eggs in Eggwars. Only then, will she reward you with a bow capable of breaking them from afar!

Step three - Break a hundred eggs in Eggwars
After bringing chickens to extinction breaking a hundred eggs in Eggwars, return to Alice. She will hand you the Black Bow, a bow capable of shattering Blackbird eggs from afar. She also throws two-hundred points your way, as a thank you. She advises you find Dory next, as iron armour simply won't cut it against the Shattered King.

Step four - Speak to Dory
Dory is willing to make you a set of armour made from the same hard metal as she makes her Artillery Towers from. Though just as she is about to hand you the armour, a column of monsters emerge at the walls of Cube City, and she asks you to give her a hand dealing with them.

Step five - Win twenty games of Tower Defence
Once you've helped Dory to suppress the oncoming invasion, she'll hand you a set of hard diamond armour. You're eager to go kill the king, but she reminds you that you'll need a sword first. She also hands you two cubelets.

Step six - Speak to Juniper
Head to the PvP lobby, and speak to Juniper. He doesn't have many mighty swords left, though suspects that you could find one by speaking to his friend, Maple, in Assassins.

Step seven - Find Maple
Head into Assassins, and find Maple. Her location differs, and she'll change spot every twenty minutes. Once you've found her, she'll offer you a powerful sword for a hefty price.

Step eight - Buy Maple's sword
Upon making $600 and giving it to Maple, you'll be handed a mighty sword. Now, head back to Steven

Step nine - Speak to Steven
Return to Ultra-Hardcore, and inform Steven that you're ready to fight the Shattered King. He will advise you enchant your armour first, perhaps by speaking to Edwyn.

Step ten - Speak to Edwyn
Speak to Edwyn, and he'll tell you that he cannot enchant your armour without a magical pocket mirror. He recalls pocket mirrors being given away as prizes by Paul in Minerware

Step eleven - Win thirty Minerware games
Upon winning your 30th Minerware game, you'll receive the magical pocket mirror. Hand it to Edwyn, who will use it to check his beard before throwing it away out of anger, and then he will enchant your armour

Step twelve - Explore the wastelands
Speak to Steven, who agrees to take you to the wastelands to the south of Cube City now. You arrive in a nasty old place, and must explore the complex labyrinth of poisonous waste and oversized mushrooms, until you reach the heart of the complex.

Step thirteen - Kill the Shattered King
Once you reach the heart of the complex, you'll encounter the Shattered King. He has full enchanted diamond armour, and his sword is always enchanted now. This means that if you take one hit, and you'll die. If you die, you'll respawn in the HUB and will have to go through the wastelands all over again.

Begin by shooting the Blackbird eggs on the ledges that surround the room, carefully avoiding the king's pooor zombie AI. Once they're all broken, you'll be able to damage the Shattered King. You'll want to shoot him until be begins to flash blue (like the Wither). Then, creepers will begin to surround you. You want to lure them into the Shattered King and get them to blow up on him to damage him. Once he dies, you'll be moved to the HUB.

Step fourteen - Speak to Steven
Head back to Steven, and he'll be so relieved that you saved Cube City again that he'll give you a whole fifteen points! He also gives you the book, now titled 'The Shattered King', which you should return to the library.

Step fifteen - Return the book to the library
Once you've returned the book to the library, you'll be given:
-15,000 experience
-5,000 points
-10 cubelets
-1 Zombie Villager pet

What do you think of these suggestions? Personally, even if all of it cannot be done, I think the idea of having actual characters is a great idea. How many servers can you think of that are as immersive and alive as this would make Cubecraft? This took me four hours and is over 6,000 words long O_O I also began writing it at midnight, so there may be continuity errors or mistakes. Please point them out if you find any, though I have proof-read everything :)

tldr: NPC characters with dialogue, quests with stories and rewards, things. Make Cube immersive, give it a history and give its characters backgrounds.

@hub3rt @Tacosbefriends @Efcluke94 Thoughts on adding a bit of history and immersion to the server in the form of NPCs? Also, what do you think about adding quests to it, which would involve speaking to NPCs, completing tasks, and doing actual missions that are separate from the minigames (i.e. finding & killing the Shattered Prince, killing an enderman, finding Maple, etc.)?

I didnt read any of it , just the title , but to make it "the most unique server out there" they just need to update to 1.12 and stop banning me

Alright. Read it , nice ideas you have but I do not see this being used other than Gainfulterror , he likes xp. I would for the story , interactive stiff

Nice stories though , not a fan of greek stuff though. GG still . If this does get implemented I would be happy , but eek. A beach cubecraft ? It doesnt sound bad but how about let one section of the lobby be a beach , the other a forest with tribal NPCs , A mountain etc. Near the tribal place you'll fond Kass another NPC creature , who'll give you quests in the form of poems.

There will also be cannibals , who are NPCs designed to look like moderators , and will attemp to eat you. The goal is in the end to save sylvaly and his alts -- oh sorry. The goal is to save an NPC who rewards you with a special effect and an exclusive parkour map.

I actually love the idea of having quests where you obtain certain parts in order to attempt a much bigger quest that makes use of said parts. I'm not sure what, but this definitely reminds me of something I loved back in the day. (Maybe Runescape... not sure though)
The quests are all adventurous and are much more meaningful than the daily challenges. I can't describe how much I would love these.
The suggestion also brings back memories of the Tale of Kingdoms mod if any of you have played with that.

I do not see this being used other than Gainfulterror , he likes xp.
YAGpXPd.png

I don't even remember ever mentioning experience to be honest.

I like the ideas of daily quests with stories, but I feel like the themes you've written really clash with Cubecraft. Could be cool though!
IT MATTERS NOT!
(What would cube's theme even be? How would one describe that?)

Cubecraft doesn't really have a theme, so I don't see how the themes written could clash with it :p Perhaps Cubecraft's theme could be the fact that it has an immersive cast of NPC characters and lore? I've never heard of a server doing something like this before.

You have:
-A typical combat master who teaches players the ropes. She used to guard Atlantis (the old SG lobby), but because it went missing (updated in 2016), she just stands around the new lobby
-A character who gives tips on Blockband and is a reference to the Greek God of the same name. He got the idea for the game when travelling from "High Pickle" to Cubecraft
-A character who supposedly founded the Cubecraft 2.1 update in response to the EULA, and explains how said update works
-A more advanced combat master who teaches players more in-depth mechanics surrounding PvP.
-A character themed after Wario, who teaches players about Minerware. He also supposedly created the game to profit from it
-A hacker themed after Steve, who founded Ultra-Hardcore so that he could hack more discretely. He's no longer allowed to play it because he was caught, so instead he teaches other people how to play it
-A blacksmith who teaches you about Tower Defence, who made the towers to fend off Vitria's army of 1.8 players
-A Valkyrie from Norse Mythology who was banished to the sky for using dark magic. She teaches you about Skywars
-A marksman who found evil eggs that would resurrect whomever possessed them. She teaches you about Eggwars, and made the game so that people could have fun whilst ridding the world of evil
-A mysterious wizard that may be under the influence of said evil, but seems harmless enough. He's been around for a while, so will teach you all there is to know about the server's history

It all sounds pretty diverse to me :3 In fact, I kinda wanna write a few more lol.

Edit: You also have the "Shattered Prince", which is just something I made up, and the "Cubecraft Gods" which is obviously the management team :P

"High Pickle" why. These ideas may not ever be added sadly . Them devs dont have MLG Java skills to do this fast enough.

You realize by saying "ever," you've given the devs infinite time to add this. Pretty sure they could add this before the end of time.

If Cubecraft has a theme, it's definitely not Greek/Norse mythology. Our lobbies are filled with funny armor stands and puns. These sort of NPC's would go great in a more RPG-esque server, but to me, they just seem like they'd be out of place here. It's like going to Disneyland and finding someone dressed up as Sherlock Holmes.

If only devs had all the time in the world :/

The only Greek/Norse mythology really, is an NPC name and an NPC's wings. Could rename Apollo to something music-related, and change Vitria's design c:

As for the NPCs as a whole, it would be really neat if they could also give a tutorial of sorts on their corresponding game, as well as offering tips (sorta like how TD has a tutorial mode, though I'm not sure how difficult that was to develop, or how complicated it was. Any idea on how that was made?). You could have the NPCs be whichever players are currently #1, though I don't really like the idea of making Cubecraft competitive tbh.

Tacos , you guys should get your own mascot tbh. Maybe some uh theme park themed NOCs too. Or YouTubers like pete , but I suppose not since they're boring and they left to Hypixel. Huh...

There's a guy called Marco in the PvP lobby , he's sitting on a mushroom. You couldnuae him. Or maybe use me as an NPC .

Scarce as an NPC , sends you on a mission to find better content for his boring YT channel. heh..

I feel like this would be amazing to have on a server, but just not on CubeCraft. They could use this base design to use it in their Daily Missions, to make them a little more 'exciting'. But besides the fact that I don't see this at CCG doesn't mean I don't like it. I really like the way you worked this one out, it's unique, it's refreshing, just exactly the way I like things. Really well done on this, I would love to see this project being released, but unfortunately, I don't see this happening ;(

Hai humans,
I just read this thread, which proposes adding story-driven quests to the server.

To entertain the community with quests! I like it!!

Heya, after a good while years having not appreciated sleep a lot, have I learned things. I have most of the times seen it as a hindrance to things such as relations and projects. But after years I realised that you need to sleep to be well. Both physically and mentally. When I also realized that I could work better and more efficiently, did I try to get more sleep. That reminds me, I need to sleep now hah XD
