Simple idea; tagging @staff would then tag all staff members. :>
It would also tag admins, moderators, owners, developers and builders who have no relevance to reports / suggestions. Sorry, but i don't find myself tagging every single staff member very often.. At most, you only need to tag maybe 3 or so
It would be used to spam staff, users will tag all of the staff in one ban appeal, and overall: spam spam spam. It may seem cool from your P.O.V. as you can use it for suggestions etc, but it will just be abused and it will become annoying for staff.
@<server> eg. Creative, skyblock, factions ect. ect. : Staff that know a lot about skyblock are grouped and whenever @skyblock is called, the whole of "skyblock staff" will get an alert c:
@Builder (builder app, maps)
What if it just alerts staff who are on at that moment?
Kinda like /report?
I have yet to see a post where every single one of the staff members would be relevant, you'd get people on the report a player doing @staff and builders would be tagged, who have nothing to do with banning/muting players. So no, I do not believe a @staff would be a wise idea. What @Pat3950 is suggesting is interesting, and could perhaps happen but I'm going to assume the admins who monitor an area of the server are watching that forum anyway, so it might not turn out to be too useful.
I think that it would cause way too much spam. If every staff member got alerts from it, it would spam so much and it would be abused easily. The idea has been done before other forums. Basically whenever somebody said ''Blue please'', then it was because they needed a staff member. Today if you use the phrase on most forums, it'll probably get you banned because it get's really spammy and it ended really poorly for every forum with that system. There for i would say that you should just tag a staff member if you want them to see the post. If we feel like it needs to get all of the staff's attention, we'll make sure it does.
Some players might not know exactly who to tag in certain posts and might end up giving the wrong people un-necessary alerts :/
"Staff - currently online" is always shown on the right side of the forums page. They can look at that.
If someone really doesn´t know who to tag just tag noone. Staff will see the thread or the members will.
I agree that @staff is not a good idea. As the others said, way too much spam and players could abuse it. There is no need to tag 28 staff members in an appeal for example.
That is a pretty interesting idea. But I have to say that it wouldn´t be that useful in my opinion.
1st The responsible staff member looks into that forum anyway
2nd when someone would do @skyblock e.g. only me would be tagged, same for other servers where just one staff member would be tagged
Hmmmm, there are some good points here. Someone lock. !
The spam would be the death of me.
