Camping is annoying. For those who don't know, shop camping is where you stand on the edge of the shops, hitting people to either stop them from entering or to kill them, with little to NO RISK AT ALL! This IS against the rules and can lead to your account being penalized. Regardless of this, players still do it. Why? the only reason i can think of is that stupidity is contagious. But how exactly can we stop these players from ruining the experience for the rest of us? below are some suggestions :) -snap
Suggestion:
1: Fire.
Placing fire at the entrances of shops sounds stupid. i know. However, with firespread off, this means that you take not even a heart of damage if you're generally running into the store, which can be minimized with fire resistance armour and potions. However, for a camper, they will be taking some serious damage, possibly even enough to kill them.
2: pvp mode engaged.
When a player hits you, for 5 seconds this "pvp mode" is engaged upon the players in combat, making it so that you're able to hit players inside the shop, as well as outside the shop, if this pvp mode is active. This is probably one of those things that are difficult to code, so i wouldn't be surprised if in the above poll, people vote against it
3: Good items
The majority of shop campers that i've noticed tend to have iron armour. This can mean one of two things: 1, they are lucky donators. 2, they are scared to lose something that took hours of boredom to get.
How many times have you died with only 50 points, that took you about an hour to get? yeah, full iron is expensive. I almost don't blame people for being cautious with their armour, due to the large hacker count... However, camping isn't the way. To counter camping and fear of losing good items, perhaps make items available from chests or just make them cheaper. This will not only make the items more common, but will reduce campers and will have people enjoying the game more, rather than struggling to even afford a helmet before they get smited by a full diamond player.
