Silk touch & fortune / Fortune and exp

I've seen another post about the silk touch and fortune before but it didn't really explain to me my question. What I want to know is if silk touch and fortune works together. Say I have melons, I have a silk touch axe and I add fortune to it aswell, do I have a chance to get 2 full melons or not? Or if not what happens? Will I only get 1?

My second question is, does fortune change ore exp (coal, lapis ect) and by how much?

For java (pretty sure it’s the same for bedrock) you can put silktouch and fortune on an axe. Fortune works on anything timer related, this includes trees potatoes, etc as well. The chances stack up so level 5 fortune gives a 1 extra melon every 2 blocks.
