signing a book and my map does not work

problem 1
i try to make a book with all the hidden quest i know but when i want to sign it is does not sign it and i can stil wright in it is it a bug or is it that i cant wright hidden quest in books and when i log of and come back on all the things i wrote are gone
problem 2
i made a map in skyblock( yes its possible you get a compas as a reward from a quest) and when i want to open it it does not show my island
