Hii
I'm pretty sure a lot of people love Eggwars private games, especially the public ones hosted by staff, but they rarely happen anymore. That's understandable, since hosting them is incredibly time consuming. So how can we get more fun PGs, more often, without taking away valuable time from staff?
->Let’s give hosts more freedom when hosting PGs! :)
Basically, the idea is to make it easier for players to host and organize fun PGs without the need of a moderator. Give hosts more settings, more commands and more ways to customize the experience.
1. It would be fun if private games could be made public and appear in a list in-game and on a dedicated channel on Discord allowing players to host their own public private games. I really enjoyed the last time us players got together and made our own private game with +25 players and since the max party size is 20 it required some organization aka 2 parties. Here, the idea of an official private games status comes to be useful (see the thread by Mohd_i7) as it would display the pg code and be easy for others to join.
Personally, I don’t think letting moderators host more PGs is the solution here, as it is way too time consuming and probably unsustainable. Letting players organize things together could instead bring players together and make many people happy. Fun PGs more often! :)
2. It would be beneficial if the host had similar settings to moderators when it comes to hosting PGs, such as commands like /deathmatch [in x min] or /deathmatch now (this has been mentioned by many people before). This could also automatically show up in chat 10 and 5 minutes before deathmatch, for example “x min until Deathmatch!” or “It’s now Deathmatch! All shops have been disabled and any eggs have been broken.”.
3. I also suggest hosts should have access to all maps, including Wipeout ;). We are in fact paying for the experience so might as well give us some of those good seasonal maps:). Also let everyone vote, including spectators (mentioned in a recent thread by HOTROD.).
4. I also think that if the PG owner chooses the option of random teams that everyone should be put in random teams, regardless whether they joined the PG in a party or not. I know that getting proper random teams was a struggle last time it was PGs hosted by staff as it took a lot of time to make everyone manually press the nether star icon for random teams. There is probably a solution to this. :)
5. Also, a list of commands that can be accessed with /commands private games would be nice if any commands are added.
Later on, it would be fun to see options such as banning specific items from the shop, change speeds on gens and making shop items free if players just wanna practice bridging or do some practice fights with friends in a place other than FFA. :)
Given that PGs is a subscription feature, I think it would pay off to develop it a little further and make some improvements.
