Optifine is Bannable!?

In some servers apparently Optifine is bannable...? Does that apply toward cubecraft as well?
Optifine has helped me a lot to even run mc on my potato, mah man.

Optifine is a mod that only gives you a small advantage and boosts your fps. I mainly use it to zoom in and for my cape ;p
