Old forums passwords dangling around

Hi! I've finally managed to get 2FA linked to my forums account (via https://www.cubecraft.net/account/two-step), since it kept asking for a password and none seemed to work. I discovered that it needed my very, very old forums password from before Passport existed. Apparently that is still dangling around somewhere.
The issue is that I cannot change this password anymore, since trying to do so redirects me to Passport. I think this imposes a security risk, and would either like to see that this separate password would be removed and replaced by the Passport functionality ór have the option to manage this old password.

Okay, I've been slightly updated about the reason behind the forum accounts still being somewhere behind it all (thanks Wouto). Still think there should be an easier way to update your forums password (so not the Passport password), though
