COMMUNITY MAP SUBMISSIONS.png

Would you like to have one of your maps featured in our server? This is your chance! This thread includes a series of guidelines and recommendations for map submissions, implementing these guidelines will increase the chances of your map being accepted!

📏 Submission Rules

All map submissions must be 100% made from scratch by the user(s) making the submission. No builds can be copied or downloaded from external sources. Plagiarizing a map submission will result in it being denied and possibly a Moderation punishment. Additionally you must:
  • Follow the map submission guidelines to the best of your ability.
  • Not exceed any of the map dimensions posted in these guidelines.
  • Not exceed any limits on generators, chests, and other useful blocks, landmarks, and features posted in these guidelines.
  • Provide video or screenshot evidence of the construction of your map.
    • You may share a video (can be sped up) of your build process.
    • Alternatively, you may share a minimum of 10 screenshots showing your build process from start to finish.
  • Not submit a map more than one time unless it has previously been denied and significant changes have been made using the denial feedback.
  • Not use alt accounts to vote on your map submissions and / or offer things in exchange for people voting for your map submission.
The staff members who review map submissions reserve the right to deny your submission even if it fits all the criteria and guidelines, if they suspect it has been plagiarized or they have gameplay / aesthetic concerns about the map, or any other reason they may deem appropriate.

:egg: EggWars

EggWars is all about defending your egg and destroying other teams’ eggs. Generators will decide how the game will play depending on what level you make it. It is one of the campiest game modes in the world, so having a diamond generator away from the player islands, often speeds up the time played. Block breaking does not work in this gamemode, excluding blocks placed by the player.

🎨 Team Colors

You can only include the following team colors: CYAN, DARK BLUE, YELLOW, ORANGE, PINK, BLACK, LIGHT GREY, RED, LIGHT GREEN, DARK GREEN, PURPLE, LIGHT BLUE

💰 Generators

You may try and go over the maximum number of generators based on the size of your map, NEVER under the minimum.
  • EggWars Solo:
    • Starter Islands: 1-2 iron generators, 1 gold generator, 1 diamond generator.
    • Middle Islands: 2-4 iron generators, 2-6 gold generators, 2-6 diamond generators.
  • EggWars Teams of 2:
    • Starter Islands: 2 iron generators, 1 gold generator, 1 diamond generator.
    • Middle Islands: 2-8 iron generators, 2-6 gold generators, 2-4 diamond generators.
  • EggWars Teams of 4:
    • Starter Islands: 4 iron generators, 2 gold generators, 1 diamond generator.
    • Middle Islands: 4-8 iron generators, 2-8 gold generators, 2-6 diamond generators.
  • EggWars Mega (Teams of 10):
    • Starter Islands: 6-10 iron generators, 5-7 gold generators, 3-4 diamond generators.
    • Middle Islands: 6-12 iron generators, 6-12 gold generators, 4-6 diamond generators.
📏 Size

You CANNOT go over the maximum size requirements, your map may and should be slightly smaller however. Keep in mind that some of the space should be left empty so players can build to the sides and above their islands.
  • EggWars Solo:
    • Width & Length: 180-230 blocks.
    • Height: 40-60 blocks.
  • EggWars Teams of 2 and 4:
    • Width & Length: 200-250 blocks.
    • Height: 40-60 blocks.
  • EggWars Mega (Teams of 10):
    • Width & Length: 250-350 blocks.
    • Height: 60-80 blocks.
🔢 Number of Players

You CANNOT change the number of players.
  • EggWars Solo: 12 players.
  • EggWars Teams of 2: 16 players.
  • EggWars Teams of 4: 16 players.
  • EggWars Mega (Teams of 10): 40 players.

✅ Do's

  • A unique layout or a layout that isn’t just the typical circle is a big MUST. We’re looking for maps with good and unique gameplay.
  • Make enough space for PvP.
  • It MUST have iron generators which are easy to find.
  • Remember a shop and respawn location has to be added and this can take up valuable space due to spawn protection, so be aware!
  • Try to keep the island flat, nobody wants to fight on a hill. Hills/obstacles can be useful from punch bows; however, people need a good clean fight and not constantly have to jump.
  • You must indicate what island is which clearly, using coloured wool or concrete. Not everyone remembers what island they came from so having clear indicators helps a lot!
  • Remember block breaking doesn’t work, so make sure there aren’t any spots where people can get stuck when they don’t have any blocks.
❌ Don'ts

  • Do not make a map with the typical circle.
  • Avoid using grass, snow layers or slabs as an island base. Players cannot destroy this, and it makes it awkward to run and to place blocks.
  • No very tall builds, to discourage camping.
  • Do not make layouts which strongly favour a team or player. It has to be fair for everyone!
  • Do not have any 2 block holes, or places where people can fall in and not be able to get out!
  • Do not make the islands very far away from each other, this makes the game take long.
  • The terraforming of the floating islands must not have any 1 block overhangs, or look spherical on top.

🛏️ BedWars

BedWars is all about defending your bed and destroying your enemies' beds. All BedWars maps follow a very intentional layout which is especially important in the starter islands, please follow these requirements closely, and look at our current maps!

🎨 Team Colors

You can only include the following team colors: YELLOW, RED, PURPLE, BLUE.

💰 Generators, Beds, Shops & Chests

All BedWars starter islands use the exact same layout, please download the schematic found at the end of the thread, you can change the blocks, but not the locations of key things like the generator, bed, shops, the glass ceiling, and chests. The bottom of this thread includes information on how to import and export schematics.
  • All maps must have 5 diamond generators, 4 spread evenly across the map, and one at the center. Try to keep these generators at relatively the same position as all other bedwars maps.

📏 Size

You CANNOT go over the maximum size requirements, your map may and should be slightly smaller however. Keep in mind that some of the space should be left empty so players can build to the sides and above their islands.
  • BedWars Solo & Teams of 2:
    • Width & Length: 160 blocks.
    • Height: 40-50 blocks.
  • BedWars Teams of 4:
    • Width & Length: 180-200 blocks.
    • Height: 40-60 blocks.
  • Height Specifications: Islands in BedWars are very flat at the bottom and don't go too far into the void. There are specific requirements for their heights:
    • Islands Height: The bottom of the islands must be at a maximum 8 blocks below the y-level of the beds.
    • Islands Height Differences: The bottom of all islands across the map cannot have more than a 2 block height difference.
🔢 Number of Players

You CANNOT change the number of players.
  • BedWars Solo: 4 players.
  • BedWars Teams of 2: 8 players.
  • BedWars Teams of 4: 16 players.

✅ Do's

  • Make enough space for PvP. BedWars maps tend to have large, flat and open spaces.
  • Include jump pads if possible.
  • Remember respawn location has to be added and this can take up valuable space due to spawn protection, so be aware!
  • You must indicate what island is which clearly, using coloured wool or concrete. Not everyone remembers what island they came from so having clear indicators helps a lot!
  • Remember block breaking doesn’t work, so make sure there aren’t any spots where people can get stuck when they don’t have any blocks.
  • Most starter islands have stairs to the left of spawn leading to a second floor, try to incorporate this in your own design.

BedWars maps are very symmetric!
  • Do not have any 2 block holes, or places where people can fall in and not be able to get out!
  • Do not make the islands very far away from each other, this makes the game take long.
  • The terraforming of the floating islands must not have any 1 block overhangs, or look spherical on top.

🏗️ Pillars of Fortune

Pillars of Fortune is total chaos, players spawn on top of a series of bedrock pillars arranged on top of a platform. Most maps have basic platforms with no impact on the game, but some maps include small little details that have some effects on gameplay. For Pillars of Fortune, we will be looking at simple maps with not too much going on at the bottom.

📏 Size

Pillars of fortune maps have a platform at the bottom in the shape of a circle of radius 16.
  • If you have World Edit, you can just generate a cylinder of radius 16 using the command /cyl BLOCKTYPE 16. Where BLOCKTYPE is replaced with the name of the block you want your cylinder to be made out of.
  • If you don't have World Edit, here is a a screenshot of the dimensions of the circle:
Screenshot 2024-05-01 112844.png
  • Pillars of Fortune Bedrock: 16, 64-block-tall Bedrock towers arranged in the following pattern:
Screenshot 2024-05-01 111435.png
  • Pillars of Fortune Java: 8, 64-block-tall Bedrock towers arranged in the following pattern:
Screenshot 2024-05-01 114359.png

Information taken from:
✅ Do's

  • Follow the size and shape guidelines EXACTLY, all pillars of fortune maps must have the same layout.
  • The biggest reason why your PoF map may be accepted is if the materials you use in the base give gameplay an interesting twist, so be creative!
❌ Don'ts

  • Do not include any structures or decorations in or around the pillars.
  • Do not include annoying blocks like cobwebs or powdered snow at the bottom.

🍀 Lucky Islands

Lucky Islands is all about luck. What you get in your Lucky Blocks can decide what kind of game you’re going to have. Lucky Blocks are not like chests, they can be good or bad. You don’t get a lot out of them, so it is perfectly fine to have 20 at mid for a solo map. And around 5 for a starter island if solo. Use sponge to identify a lucky block.

🎨 Team Colors

You can use any team colors you want, though many maps do not even use team colors!

🧰 Lucky Blocks, Food Blocks, and Utility Blocks

For Lucky Block placements, we ask that you do not place them yourself, instead just leave enough space for them to be placed later by our team if your map gets accepted. Keep in mind team maps should include more space for lucky blocks than solo maps.
  • Include at least 3 hay bales, one crafting table and one furnace in solo starter islands.
  • Include at least 12 hay bales, one crafting table, and one furnace in team starter islands.
  • You can include some melon blocks around the map to give players more food options if you'd like.
  • You can leave very few iron and redstone blocks here and there for players to mine.
  • Include building supplies like wooden logs scattered across islands, as sometimes players don't have enough blocks to build with!
  • Place at 1-2 enchantment tables and 1-2 anvils at the center of each map.
  • Leave enough space for your map to have an accumulation of Lucky Blocks in the center, including the Rainbow Lucky Blocks.

📏 Size

You CANNOT go over the maximum size requirements, your map may and should be slightly smaller however. Keep in mind that some of the space should be left empty so players can build to the sides and above their islands.
  • Lucky Islands Solo:
    • Width & Length: 150-200 blocks
    • Height: 40-50 blocks
  • Lucky Islands Teams of 4:
    • Width & Length: 170-200 blocks
    • Height: 50-70 blocks
🔢 Number of Players

You CANNOT change the number of players.
  • Lucky Islands Solo: 12 players.
  • Lucky Islands Teams of 4: 16 players.

✅ Do's

  • A unique layout or a layout that isn’t just the typical circle is a big MUST. We’re looking for maps with good and unique gameplay.
  • Make enough space for PvP.
  • The islands must be fairly close together, this is to encourage close combat (no more than 10 blocks away from another island if possible ideally for solo)
  • Try to keep the island flat, nobody wants to fight on a hill

❌ Don'ts

  • Do not make a map with the typical circle.
  • The terraforming of the floating islands must not have any 1 block overhangs, or look spherical on top.
  • No very tall builds, to discourage camping.
  • Do not make the islands very far away from each other, this makes the game very long.
  • Do not hide Lucky Blocks.

🏹 SkyWars

SkyWars is one of the most known gamemodes around. You spawn on your island, loot chests and fight other players in order to win. Almost everyone knows how this works. We have a ton of SkyWars maps, so we will be very demanding to accept any new ones, make sure you are not using any theme that already exists, try your best to make something unique and that looks great.

🧰Chests and Utility Blocks

  • Do not place any chests, they will be placed by us once your map has been accepted. Ensure there are enough spaces for chests to be placed later on.
  • Include at least 1 crafting table and 1 furnace on each starter island.
  • You can include resources like iron, coal and gold ores, wooden logs in starter islands and scattered around the map, but it is not necessary.
  • Include 1 enchantment table, 1 anvil and 1 smithing table at the center of your map.

📏 Size

You CANNOT go over the maximum size requirements, your map may and should be slightly smaller however. Keep in mind that some of the space should be left empty so players can build to the sides and above their islands.
  • SkyWars Solo:
    • Width & Length: 130-150 blocks
    • Height: 40-50 blocks
  • SkyWars Teams of 2:
    • Width & Length: 160-200 blocks
    • Height: 40-50 blocks
  • SkyWars Teams of 4:
    • Width & Length: 150-200 blocks
    • Height: 50-60 blocks
  • SkyWars Mega (Teams of 10):
    • Width & Length: 200-240 blocks
    • Height: 50-60 blocks
🔢 Number of Players

You CANNOT change the number of players.
  • SkyWars Solo: 12, 16, or 20 players.
  • SkyWars Teams of 2: 16 players
  • SkyWars Teams of 4: 16 players.
  • SkyWars Mega (Teams of 10): 40 players

✅ Do's

  • A unique layout is or a layout that isn’t just the typical circle is a big MUST. We’re looking for maps with good and unique gameplay.
  • Make enough space for PvP.
  • Try to keep the island flat, nobody wants to fight on a hill.
  • Breaking blocks works, so if you want you can set up traps. Just do not make too many of them.

❌ Don'ts

  • Do not make a map with the typical circle.
  • The terraforming of the floating islands must not have any 1 block overhangs, or look spherical on top.
  • No very tall builds, to discourage camping.
  • Do not make the islands very far away from each other, this makes the game very long.
  • Do not make layouts which strongly favour a team or player. It has to be fair for everyone!
  • Do not hide chests on starter islands.

🧂 FFA

Free for All is pretty self-explanatory. Generally there are 40 players in a map fighting each other and trying to get as many kills as possible. FFA maps are very large and require a lot of attention to detail, beautiful scenery, and convenient terrain to engage in fights.

👥 Spawn Area, Spawn Locations & Event Locations

Make sure you include a space where players are supposed to spawn and select their kits, it must have enough space to follow the same exact layout as all other FFA maps, please consult them as reference. Make sure spawn areas are COMPLETELY unaccessible by players who have already spawned.

Include enough open and flat spaces both for PvP and for random spawn locations, and event locations.

📏 Size

You CANNOT go over the maximum size requirements, your map may and should be slightly smaller however.
  • Width & Length: 300-350 blocks
  • Height: 80-200 blocks
🔢 Number of Players

FFA maps have a maximum capacity of 40 players.

✅ Do's

  • Make a unique theme.
  • Make it fairly flat. However, you can include tall structures that players can traverse, as long as you also add flat surfaces at the top / on different levels of it.
  • Make sure there are unique places for the spawn areas
  • Using water/lava can be strategic in map making for this type of gamemode.
  • Remember block breaking doesn’t work, so make sure there aren’t any spots where people can get stuck when they don’t have any blocks.
  • It’s ideal to have some Easter eggs and special secret locations in the map for players to find.
  • FFA is a game of PvP and strategy, so having different ways to escape is best.
  • Make sure you thoroughly block all areas that should not be accessed by players using barrier blocks, including the void.

❌ Don'ts

  • Do not use ice or snow!
  • Do not make a deathtrap (void) which you can walk into straight away from spawning.
  • Do not have any 2 block holes, or places where people can fall in and not be able to get out!
  • Avoid tall grass, flowers, or any 2 block tall vegetation that will impede PvP fights.

🛡️ Duels

On duels you face off in epic 1v1s or 2v2s in small, flat, but beautifully decorated maps. Duels is all about killing your opponents as quickly as possible with the gear at your disposal.

📏 Size

You CANNOT go over the maximum size requirements, your map may and should be slightly smaller however. All duels maps have a 50 block by 50 block arena space. The outskirts of the map are decorated and blocked away from the player with barrier blocks.
  • Width & Length: 90-100 blocks
  • Height: 100-150 blocks
🔢 Number of Players

  • 1v1 Duels: 2 players.
  • 2v2 Duels: 4 players

✅ Do's

  • Make a unique theme.
  • Make it fairly flat. Include very few and very small obstacles that do not get too much in the way of PvP.
  • No water or lava, or annoying blocks like soulsand, cobwebs, honey, etc.
  • Make sure there aren’t any spots where people can get stuck when they don’t have any blocks.

❌ Don'ts

  • Do not use ice or snow!
  • Do not have any 2 block holes, or places where people can fall in and not be able to get out!
  • Avoid tall grass, flowers, or any 2 block tall vegetation that will impede PvP fights.

⛳ BlockWars CTF (Teams of 5)

In BlockWars Capture the Flag it’s all about building up defences and capturing your enemies’ flag. BlockWars maps are all very different, they have interesting and dynamic layouts that make games feel fresh and strategy-driven.

🎨 Team Colors

All BlockWars maps only have two colors: Red and Blue. Please do not use any other colors.

💰 Generators & Crafting Tables

  • Iron Generators: 15-20 per team.
  • Diamond Generators: 4 at the center of the map.
  • Crafting Tables: 2-3 per team, and 1-2 at the center of the map.

📏 Size

You CANNOT go over the maximum size requirements, your map may and should be slightly smaller however.
  • Length: 100-140 blocks.
  • Width: 60-80 blocks.
  • Height: 30-50 blocks.

🔢 Number of Players

BlockWars CTF maps have a maximum capacity of 10 players.

✅ Do's

  • A unique layout is a big MUST. We’re looking for maps with good and unique gameplay.
  • Try to keep the map flat, nobody wants to fight on a hill. Hills/obstacles can be useful, however people need a good clean fight and not constantly have to jump.
  • Include jump pads if possible. They can be as small as 2x2 and as big as 3x3.
  • Make sure both sides are the same so each team has equal advantages and disadvantages.
  • Create multiple pathways to and from flags to create gameplay variation and strategy.

❌ Don'ts

  • Do not make the map too big. We do not want people to run a marathon before getting to the enemy flag/core.
  • Do not place the spawn point too close to the flag, or it will be too easy to defend it.
  • Avoid using grass, snow or slabs as an island base. It makes it awkward to run and to place blocks.
  • Do not set up TNT traps.
  • Do not make a deathtrap (void) which you can walk into straight away from spawning.
  • Do not include too many difficult jumps, mobile players tend to struggle with parkour.

🌉 BlockWars Bridges

In BlockWars Bridges, opposing teams spawn in an island separated by a narrow one block wide bridge. They must make their way to the other side and enter their opponent's pit to score points. All Bridges maps usually follow the same layout.

🎨 Team Colors

All BlockWars maps only have two colors: Red and Blue. Please do not use any other colors.

💰 Generators, Crafting Tables & Powerup Platforms

  • Iron Generators: 8-16 per team.
  • Crafting Tables: 2 per team.
  • Powerup Platforms: 4 on each side of the bridge.
    • All powerup platforms have the same size and shape: a block with four slabs on the top part of each side in a plus (+) sign shape.

📏 Size

You CANNOT go over the maximum size requirements, your map may and should be slightly smaller however. BlockWars Bridges maps always have two player islands separated by a 39 block long bridge. Do not attempt to change this layout or modify the shape of the bridge in any way.
  • Island Length & Width: 30-30 blocks.
  • Island Height: 50 blocks.
  • Bridge Length: 39 blocks.
  • Bridge Height: 7 blocks.
  • Bridge Width: 1 block.
Each island has a pit in the center of it that players are supposed to defend. You must leave a hole in the center of your map where the pit is supposed to go. Pits ALWAYS have the same dimensions:
  • Pit Length & Width: 7 blocks.
  • Pit Height: 4 blocks.

🔢 Number of Players

BlockWars Bridges maps have a maximum capacity of 10 players.

✅ Do's

  • A unique layout is a big MUST. We’re looking for maps with good and unique gameplay.
  • Try to keep the outer skirts of the islands flat, nobody wants to fight on a hill. Hills/obstacles can be useful, however people need a good clean fight and not constantly have to jump.
  • Do not place the blocks around the pit all at the same height, some parts should let the player jump in directly, other parts should force the player to build upwards.
  • Islands usually have interesting height variations around the pit to allow players to jump into it.
  • Make sure both sides are the same so each team has equal advantages and disadvantages.

❌ Don'ts

  • Do not include any back or hidden entrances into the pit area.
  • Do not make the pit area too narrow as it will be very easy to defend and annoying to attack.
  • Avoid using grass, snow or slabs as an island base. It makes it awkward to run and to place blocks.
  • Do not have any 2 block holes, or places where people can fall in.
  • Do not make a deathtrap (void) which you can walk into straight away from spawning.
  • Do not place the spawn too close from the pit or it will be too easy to defend.
  • Do not change the shape of the bridge in any way, all blockwars bridges maps have the same bridge dimensions.

🎮 Minerware

When building a map for this gamemode you don’t have to worry about gameplay. Just make a unique and good-looking map. Make sure players in MinerWare can’t get from the platform to them map surrounding it.

📏 Size

You CANNOT go over the maximum size requirements, your map may and should be slightly smaller however. Keep in mind that the Minerware platform is 24 by 24 blocks wide with 2x2 blocks arranged on the following way:

MinerwareDimensions.jpg

Include this platform in your map so you get an idea of the shape of the outer ring, which should be more than 30 blocks away in all directions from the platform.
  • Width & Length: 150-200 blocks
  • Height: 60-150 blocks

⚔️ Survival Games

On Survival Games you face against other players in large, beautiful and highly detailed maps with varied terrain, osbtacles, structures, and more. All players spawn at the center of the map and must rush to grab as many items from the cornucopia as possible, fight fiercely to be the last one standing!

🧰 Chests, Spawn Areas and Utility Blocks

All Survival Games maps have the same spawn layout, 16 to 24 platforms spread symmetrically on a circle around a pyramid of chests. Please do not place any chests in the map, we will add them to your map if it is accepted, but you must ensure to leave enough space for them to go.
  • Player spawns must be arranged in a CIRCLE around the center of the map, no spawn can be closer to the chests than another, to keep the game fair.
  • Please always include an enchantment table, 2 anvils, 1-2 smithing tables and some crafting tables in the center of the map.
  • You may scatter crafting tables along other places on your map.
  • You may mark places where you think a chest should go with a special block, as long as you show us what block that is in your submission.

📏 Size

You CANNOT go over the maximum size requirements, your map may and should be slightly smaller however. There is no height limit for Survival Games maps, but we encourage you not to include tall structures that players can get on top of, to discourage camping. If your map has multiple height levels, ensure there are multiple ways to access them. If there are big drops, include water at the bottom of some of the drops to make transportation easier.
  • Survival Games Solo:
    • Width & Length: 300-400 blocks
    • Height: no limit
  • Survival Games Teams of 2:
    • Width & Length: 300-400 blocks
    • Height: no limit
🔢 Number of Players

You CANNOT change the number of players.
  • Survival Games Solo: 16-24 players.
  • Survival Games Teams of 2: 16-24 players.

✅ Do's

  • Make plenty of wide and flat open spaces for PvP battles.
  • Include interesting obstacles and terrain like hills, water, bridges, ladders, to keep the game dynamic.
  • Remember block breaking doesn’t work, so make sure there aren’t any spots where people can get stuck when they don’t have any blocks.
  • Use a unique theme for your map, and stick to it throughout the entirety of it.
  • Use other survival games maps as reference and inspiration.
  • Make different areas of your map distinct so players do not get lost so easily.
❌ Don'ts

  • Avoid using grass, snow layers or slabs as a base. Players cannot destroy this, and it makes it awkward to run and to place blocks.
  • No very tall builds that the player can access, to discourage camping.
  • Just because the map is big doesn't mean you shouldn't add detail everywhere, the entirety of your map should be elaborate and beautiful.
  • Do not have any 2 block holes, or places where people can fall in and not be able to get out!
  • The terraforming must not have any 1 block overhangs, or look spherical on top.

🌋 Disasters

Disasters is our newest gamemode, you must run for your life as massive disasters erupt all around the map! These do not have a particular layout, as long as they are easy to walk around and very beautiful and detailed!

👥 Spawn Area

Make sure you include a space where players are supposed to spawn, make it open and large so that players can move around as the game starts!

📏 Size

You CANNOT go over the maximum size requirements, your map may and should be slightly smaller however.
  • Width & Length: 150-180 blocks
  • Height: 70-100 blocks
🔢 Number of Players

Disasters maps have a maximum capacity of 12 players.

✅ Do's

  • Make a unique theme.
  • Look at our current disasters maps, you will notice a lot of height variation, many open spaces, and fun details to find around the map.
  • Include jump pads if possible.
  • Include ways to get up on high areas like rooftops or cliffs for disasters like rising lava.
  • Include some closed spaces to seek shelter from disasters that rain from the sky!
  • Add a lot of detail, our disasters maps are very intricate.
  • Remember block breaking doesn’t work, so make sure there aren’t any spots where people can get stuck when they don’t have any blocks.
  • Generally our disasters map are not 100% accessible, the outskirts of the map are blocked off by barrier blocks. Use this to create impressive structures in the outskirts that do not give huge strategic advantages.
  • Do not make overly tall structures, the height limited posted in this thread includes mountains and buildings on the sides of maps that are not accessible for players anyway.
  • Include enough flat surfaces for powerups to spawn in.

❌ Don'ts

  • Do not make a deathtrap (void) which you can walk into straight away from spawning.
  • Do not make overly tall structures, the height limited posted in this thread includes mountains and buildings on the sides of maps that are not accessible for players anyway.
  • Do not add secret rooms or platforms that give players too much protection from all disasters.

💌 General Tips

  • Any caves or interiors should be well lit, change your brightness to 30/40% to check. Not everyone has the same brightness as you and has it on bright 100%.
  • Actually play the game before you build a map!
  • Check the map from the ground, players don’t have /fly.
  • Excessive use of glass panes is discouraged, too much of them and they can cause lag for some players.
  • Do not go overboard with decoration, to the point where you can barely move, for example no use of sugar canes, double grass, double ferns, heads and anything that will get in the way of PvP.
  • Don’t use the same theme as another map for the same gamemode, for example: 2 Tree maps for solo.
  • Avoid tall structures, as this will discourage camping. Starter islands must not have tall structures at all.

SCHEMATIC DOWNLOADS.png

The following gamemodes have strict size and shape guidelines for certain parts of their maps:
  • Bedwars
  • Pillars of Fortune Bedrock
  • Pillars of Fortune Java
  • BlockWars Bridges
  • Minerware
  • Survival Games
Visit our Map Submission Notion Page to download the schematics!

We highly encourage that you download these schematics to make sure you follow the exact map layout. You will notice certain parts of the schematic have color coding:
  • Diamond Blocks, Quartz Stairs, Quartz Slabs: Mandatory block placements, should be replaced with other materials.
  • Emerald Blocks: Recommended block placements, should be replaced with other materials.
  • Netherite Blocks: The BlockWars Bridges barrier blocks that create the pit.
    • Note: You do not need to place the pit of your map in the exact position shown in the schematic, but it is recommended.
  • Bedrock Blocks: The Pillars of Fortune pillars.
  • Glass: The mandatory glass ceilings in the BedWars starter islands.
You must have World Edit installed on the server you are building to be able to use a schematic.
  1. Go to your server files -> plugins -> WorldEdit -> schematics
  2. Place the .schem file in the schematics folder
  3. In-game, issue the following command: /schematic load NAME_OF_SCHEMATIC.schem
  4. Then, issue //paste
  5. The schematic will be pasted into your world
  6. You can now customize it and build your map with it!

That's all! Thank you for reading this, and have fun building. You can submit your maps using THIS form.
