Discussion and Implementation
Alright, so most of other players don’t like it if someone is griefing in their Skyblock worlds. You invite a player to your Skyblock world and someone is griefing so that your island will be destroyed. Griefing players just leave so they don’t get banned from the server. The ban range can be temporary or permanent.
Here is the main problem
If you encounter a player who was griefing, you can either report them or contact the staff member who destroyed your Skyblock island. Don’t panic if your island is destroyed. Everything will be fine. You have your profile backups that allow the owner to revert their island. All you have is to kick players who aren’t active for a long time or you can kick players when they’re about to grief.
What are you going to do in the future
We’re going to be adding player permissions from the owner of the profile. This stops players from griefing so that no bans will be issued. Hopefully that your profile is indeed safe. The permissions are everyone, friends only, and nobody. Nobody means self only. Only the owner can do everything.
Punishment Track
Current: permanent
New: 30 days -> 90 days -> permanent
The new punishment track is going to be 30 days for the first offense, 90 days for the second offense, and lastly permanent for the third offense. Permanent ban for griefing islands in Skyblock Reborn for the first time? That’s too strong. Let’s reduce the strength so that players can enjoy the server experience. Staff will always monitor their Skyblock profiles/islands. They will monitor every profile/island to see if they’re griefing. They’re only allowed to grief is the owner. Like we said, the owner can delete their profile if necessary.
Permissions we will be having in the future
Allow players to destroy blocks (Others can potentially grief and destroy chests worth of useful items and can get deleted if the item limit reaches)
Allow players to remove crops, trees, and/or generators (The problem will cause if others remove them and leave their profile for days so that your crops, trees, and generators will be lost)
Allow players to place blocks (Water, Lava, TNT, Fire from Flint and Steel are griefing useful blocks/items)
Allow players to place/destroy spawners (Placing hundreds of spawners as a griefer may cause lag and making others difficult to break spawners)
Allow players to attack creatures (Whether or not you want players to attack all types of creatures, including passive and hostile)
Allow players to drop items (Prevents players from griefing such as dropping useful items in the void, cactus, or lava)
Allow players to trample crops (Would you like others to stop trampling crops it’s the best idea if you set it to nobody)
Allow players to interact blocks (Optimisers, Chests, Crafting Tables, Furnaces, Anvils, and Enchantment Tables)
EVERYONE
FRIENDS ONLY
NOBODY
