CubeCraft, as off right now, won't go back to 1.8.
There has been invented 1.8 modes to stay on the feeling of 1.8. Of course, it isn't the same. But it does the trick.

It messes up 1.9 kill aura unless the hacker decides to use 1.8 kill aura; that is, he decides to use 20 auto-CPS instead of attacking after cooldown.

CubeCraft isn't going to downgrade their server. They will stay in 1.9 with 1.8/1.9 PvP;

Such a thread has already been created and CubeCraft is the server that it is because of it having 1.9. This server is pretty much unlike any other and I personally, am bad at 1.8 so I love CubeCraft, it is my most favourite server. People come to this server so they can have that 1.9 experience. If you still want to play 1.8, most of the games are still available to be played in 1.8 with a few 1.9 things still in them such as dual wielding, shields, and the regeneration speed.
