Even though my purchase is reflected in the store it is not yet reflected in the game, I would like to know if it is due to a waiting period and if it is, it would be prudent to have prior knowledge to understand what happens.

If you are talking about a Java purchase from https://store.cubecraft.net, please contact sales@cubecraft.net along with your Minecraft name and transaction ID so we can look into this further.
