Hello everyone! The 31st of October I created a CubeCraft Forums World Map.
You can see the full thread here.
Here is the world map:

Together with @Elivat we noticed lot of you showed interest in wanting to define your country’s identities and alliances. So we thought we could make it into a Forums Game!

So, how does the game work? Firstly we will have a description phase, all of you are very much invited to write a short description of your country and its relationships with other countries.

Information you can put in your description:

  • positives (Best medical research, strongly armored ships, charismatic population …)
  • negatives (No knowledge about iron, barbarians …)
  • landscape (Huge mountains, tropical forest, pasture …)
  • relations (friended with …, bad history with … …)
  • state religion (Only made up religions, but it would be nice if you join religions of others, so we don’t have 50 different religions. Fraldarius (TheJeroen) Trattism (Fisktratt))
  • Political Ideologies (Communism, fascism, capitalism, socialism …)
  • A new name for your land (SentineI empire, United Island Elenahh …)

Please make sure your country is balanced. Otherwise, we’re forced to change the description of your country. All descriptions will be visible next week for everyone

Please keep in mind the game will be set in Medieval times. (But if for whatever reason you might want to bring communism to medieval times, that’s fine!)
About alliances, you are limited to conform alliances of six members maximum (this includes yourself). You may be part of multiple alliances, but beware, fate might make you pick some day...

If you haven’t sent us a description before Monday, we will write your country description. If there is a week you don't tell us everything, you become a 'AI' and we will control that country.


Here is an example:
The isolated lands of Yoya are located in the cold North. Few people now about their habits or culture. They aren't known by the southern lands at all. Only the Nordic hunters of SentineI have seen Yoya's. They are described as huge savages, with beards that almost reach the white snow. The only information that is found in the history books of Sentinel about this mysterious folk is from an attack, on a lumberjack village in SentineI, where 250 men, women and children found death.

The following rules are not for this week. This week, you just need to make a description!

Once the description phase has ended, we will start accepting directives. What is a directive? A directive is a specific action that you, as a country might wanna do.

So let’s say for example, the republic of the Elivat peninsula would like to attack coastal ports at the southern territories of Marieken Kingdom. Make sure to explain this: what, when, where, how and why.

The more specific you are with your directives, the higher chances it has to be accepted. @Elivat and I will be the ones determining which directives are approved and which aren’t. We will be entirely subjective and will only reject/approve directives to contribute to the dynamic of the game.

For making directives, you should send Elivat or me a message on Discord or on the Forums. we will attempt to answer as fast as we can. You are limited to write maximum three directives a week, with us being able to make
one unexpected directive.

If a country gains/loses territory the map will be updated accordingly. The map updates will be done every week. You will know what happened to your directive once we make a weekly post addressing each directive and show the updated map.

If you’re not in the map, and you want to participate. Let us know! And we will figure out a way to give you some territory to start with. But keep in mind, if you join at an advanced stage of the game, when many participants may have lost a few troops already, you will receive less resources to start with. Additionally, we’re finding people who don’t have territory and are interested in governing my and @Elivat ‘s territory.

If we have enough information about a specific subject around the world, we will make associated maps. (For example a map with all worlds religions.)

You will be permanently eliminated from the game once you have lost the entirety of your territory.

The winners aren’t individual participants but an entire alliance. You win if you and your allies have taken control over the whole world.

MEGAlovania is the name of my country. The MEGAlovanians (That's what you call them) are very kind people when it suits them. Whenever a person outside MEGAlovania insults a MEGAlovanian or make them angry, they will spit toxicity towards you what you want to avoid. With spitting I just mean Toxic behaviour. Our land has some little mountains with great resources like: Coal, Silver, Gold and Iron. If you enter MEGAlovania, you won't see a lot of farmers because our land is not fertile enough to grow wheat on it. So you'll find a lot of animals jumping around the fields and a lot of slaughter houses ofcourse. The village has a villager count of 500 people (Including children).

Our troops are not the smartest ones out there. If you set up a trap, 9 out of 10 of MEGAlovania's troops will fall for it. But they have great power in combat. Ones there was a mighty MEGAlovanian that slaughtered 300 men on his own. Incredible! Our alliances are happy to get us when they go to war. MEGAlovanians are true and loyal fighters.

We don't have much to say about neighbors because we don't know them well. Although we've seen Jevmen's troops fighting in a battle between him and Juskebat. It was a true battle. I'll keep the relation between Jevmen and Oreoino neutral. But we have a bad reputation with Cynamooo. His people were angry on us because we stole their Iron on the other side of the mountain. Still on the day we speak, we are still in a war. We call it the 20 years-war.

That's my description of my country. :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention our religion. Euhm... simple we don't have one. We're Atheists.

I rule a fictional and nameless country. My country, however, is home to 1/3 of all trees on Earth and provides the Earth with 50% of its oxygen. It won't come as a surprise that this attracts a lot of parrots and other animal species. Next to all the animal-life in my country, there are also around 25 million people living there. We hold the world record for longest life expectancy (89.5 years) and according to the Global Peace Index, my country has been the safest for five years straight now. Thanks to the location of my land on the map, I am surrounded by a lot of ocean. This obviously is great for business! We also attract a lot of tourists. I'm guessing the combination of our location, climate and cheap prizes are to blame here.

Unfortunately, though, natural disasters are not that rare. Every decade, roughly 100.000 inhabitants die because of them. Arguably the most controversial matter here is that inhabitants don't have a whole lot of space. Although we are all against deforesting our enormous forest, people obviously don't like cramming their entire house in just a living room. That's one of the main reasons I want to take land from my neighbours. Can't wait to do so.

Speaking in the name of my inhabitants, we generally don't have a religion. Although only roughly half a million inhabitants do have a religion - they are safe and completely free to believe in whatever they want as long as they don't harm others and leave atheists be.

I'm forming an alliance together with Spuuuni, SanCookie and Robert Downey Jr. Probably some other countries also want to befriend me, but not at this point in time as I haven't discussed with enough people in greater detail

idk if this counts but:

Our political ideologies is, democracy.
the name of my country is ‘Earth Kingdom’ (duh)

And our biggest city is Ba Sing Se, (also called the great city Ba Sing Se) and our capital is called: Republic City
Everything in my country is good and bad, we have the Dai Lee, in Ba Sing Se, which protects the city, and the police officers from Republic City. Although, the country is not that big. Since we have Kyoshi Island, we’ll teach our inhabitants ‘Chi Blocking’ which is a form of fighting that can paralyze people for a short time.

we have the avatar (master of all four elements) and is trying to keep balance everywhere in the country. Although he isn’t the president of the country; that’s Zhu Li, she’s currently in charge, and one of the best we’ve ever had.

We have benders, non-benders and spirits, so everything here is equal. We’ve been through a lot in the past 200 years, and everything is fine for now.

The landscape here is beautiful, we have mountains, and a swamp, which is connected all over the world. We have two very popular islands, Kyoshi Island, and Air Temple Island, which is not visible on the map. Our greatest lake here is called ‘Lake Logai’ and a lot of people visit that place.

You can enter the spirit portal to visit the spirit world and see a whole different world, but there are some rules.

Our greatest business conglomerates, called Future Industries has some great inventions lately, and it’s growing bigger and bigger.

New country name: The Holy Kingdom of Blaiddyd

Political Ideologies: Monarchy (I'm sorry Communism, I love you)
In the Holy Kingdom of Blaiddyd rules King TheJeroen the second, often refered to as TheJeroen II. The kingdom exists out of 8 small provinces, with each respective house having a noble who leads that territory of the kingdom. One of the houses, which also happens to be the largest territory, is property of House Blaiddyd, controlled by TheJeroen II. The other Royal Houses and nobles may create laws independent from the other 7 houses. However there are a set of laws enforced through out the entire kingdom. TheJeroen II can apply any kind of new law when he pleases that have to be enfored through the entire Holy Kingdom of Blaiddyd.
Any of the other 7 nobles or Royal Houses that defy the voice of the king, or even try to become independent themselfs, the Kingdom Army will bring down that current noble who rules that house and appoint a new family to inherit the title of noble and rulers of that respective house.

State Religion: Citizens are free to decide wether they want to participate in religious acts and events. Though a huge majority of the people show their support to the Church of Fraldarius. Every major city has a big cathedral in the exact middle of it. Here they pray to the godess who created this world and gave birth to all humans. Because every city has a different cathedral, members of different churches may disagree strongly with the way they should follow the godess. The Holy Kingdom of Blaiddyd counts 8 different cathedrals with 3 different kind of church followers.

Relations: Extremely good bonds with the country across the sea, also known as Efcluke94. Between these two countries are tons of trade router that both benefit the Kingdom and the country of Efcluke94. Has good bonds with both Buuuddy / Dubbia and mitgobla. Due to Buuuddy / Dubbia being adjacent to the Holy Kindom, and mitgobla laying next to our best friend Efcluke94 these countries have minor trade routes to the Kingdom, though enough to support the economies.
Despises the people from the country of Warriors1976. This is due to a very old conflict ages ago. There is no war between these countries and bonds are not quite stable, though the Holy Kingdom of Blaiddyd has no interest in invading or starting a war with the country as of now unless Warriors1976 invades the Kingdom or it's best ally Efcluke94. The Holy Kingdom has no other good relationships of hatred towards other countries and is open to discuss any new agreements or trade routes with other countries.

Landscape: There are multiple kinds of landscapes present in the Kingdom, with the most common being mountains. Not all mountains are covered in snow, even though they are definitly present the further you go North. It's people and military have adapted to living in these mountains so they can also make use of rough landscape. Aside from mountains the Kingdom has plenty of rivers that cause beautiful green gras and white flowers to grow near it. There are also thick forests, often used as military training grounds or small, peaceful, remote villages. It also contains some flat grasslands. Most cities and villages are built on these flat areas, followed by the mountain areas, and lastly the thick woods.

Positives: A strong and experienced military force. Due to a conflict that happened a long time ago, the Holy Kingdom of Blaiddyd swore to raise a military that strong, no other countries would be able to invade it. They originally focussed on defending the country, but through out the years the army gained experience and new training allowing it to also strike hard during war times when they invade other countries. Though this country tends to avoid war, when any country attacks the Holy Kingdom of Blaiddyd or it's best ally Efcluke94 the Kingdom won't hasitate the slightest to invade enemy territory with the goal to conquer the capital and eliminate the current leader of the country. Almost every single conflict that involved Efcluke94 and the Holy Kingdom of Blaiddyd ended up in both countries combining military forces to protect it's citizens. Even though the Holy Kingdom is mostly divided by 8 houses, by a single command of TheJeroen II all houses will join the main military force of house Blaiddyd. This, usually combined with military forces of Eflcuke94 aswell, makes up for an incredibly powerful combined army ready to defend it's people to the death, quite literally. Every soldier has sworn to fight until their last breath exits their body to protect the Holy Kingdom.

Negtives: No country can ever be perfect how much you try, just as the Holy Kingdom of Blaiddyd. Despite almost everybody enjoying their lives in the Kingdom, there are it's flaws. Not too long ago the previous king of the Holy Kingdom of Blaiddyd, TheJeroen I, was assassinated. This caused the Kingdom to be in an unstable state for a while. For a decent time there were civil wars, internal conflicts between houses for more territory and border disputes. TheJeroen II had to take drastic actions to restore order to the Holy Kingdom. Due to harsh conditions children are often first tought how to fight in combat with a weapon, only after they succeed they will start learning to read and write. Though this does improve the strength of it's military forces, and by no means are people of the Kingdom dumb, some of the citizens may not be the smartest. Often the only smart, genius people in the Kingdom are the royal family, nobles of the 8 houses and highly succesful tradesmen. This often couses families to stay stuck in a certain position without a chance to earn more power or wealth. Your family's role is often determened by default due to their position in society.

TLDR; Extremely good bonds with Efcluke94, exceptional military, may lack intelligence or empathy, tends to avoid conflicts but once provoked may directly invade the enemies.

Whew I probably spent way too much time on this but hey, it's good to be participating in community games again I suppose!

Population:

Landscape:
Atlantropa is a mostly mountainous country, with the huge Beor Mountains stretching across the north, bordering Kloska and Riley. To the south are the smaller, but still large Hadrac Mountains, reaching across the border with Capitan to the border with Dutudy. In between these two mountain ranges lies the Atlantis Plateau, in which most of the country’s cities are located. The Lorian Sea on the north-east coast provides the country with its main ocean access to the rest of the world, although the Meon River in the very south can provide small boats access to the ocean through Capitan’s land.

Country Overview:
Atlantropa has fairly few large cities, with the capital, Firewolf, being situated on the coast in the centre of the plateau. All the other major cities are located along the plateau, with only villages and towns being stationed in the mountains. The majority of the population are anthropomorphic (part animal, part human) and are natives to the area. With forests being commonplace, the nation is home to a large amount of wildlife, although a lot of it is not rare or endangered species.

Political Overview:
Atlantropa has a complicated political system. The country prides itself on its democratic system of an alternative vote every 4 years which chooses a representative from each area of the country to represent that area. This system however, has led to a huge imbalance of power, with representatives being unable to agree with each other, and being bribed by organisations for their own good. This has led to an inability for any new laws, policies etc to be introduced and is progressively declining.

Religion Overview:
Generally Atlantropians are allowed to practice any religion they wish, but the majority of the country is atheist. All people in the country are extremely respectful about all other religions.

Economy:
Atlantropa has a strong economy, mostly powered by its tech market and its export industry. Its main exports are iron and other precious metals such as gold and silver, due to the huge mountain ranges holding huge supplies of it, and the plateau storing huge amount underneath, which generates over 30% of its GDP.

Alliances:
Atlantropa is a generally friendly nation and is welcome to treaties from most people. Most of its alliances work on 2 main principles – more trade and non-aggression. Essentially, most of its allies just trade with Atlantropa more, as well as agree to not be aggressive with Atlantropa, and if possible, all other allies. Some countries who are even closer allies are known as having a declaration of friendship with the country. This means that both countries have agreed to a defensive pact, and even stronger trade. Strengths:
Atlantropa has a variety of different strengths in various areas. It has a strong military, with well-trained soldiers and capable weaponry. Its main advantage is its high resource production, enabling it to control other countries to a degree if needs be. Atlantropa is also a fairly peaceful country with lots of alliances and good diplomatic relations with other nations.

Weaknesses:
As everything does, Atlantropa does have its fair share of flaws. As stated earlier, it has a weak government with huge internal turmoil and a possible collapse. As current leader, I have been trying to solve this issue however it is a huge issue and the public is becoming unrestful due to this. It’s huge resource control is also a double-edged sword. Should a country or company decide to purchase from another source, it could lead to huge losses for the country’s economy. Its third flaw is its military size and experience. Due to the low population, the country has a relatively small military and due to the country’s peace qualities, most of it has seen very little, if any real conflict and has little practical experience compared to different nations.

This is not final, and can change due to changes in relations with other countries. Feel free to let me know if you have anything to say~

Being one of the most northern regions, Dubbia is cold and infertile.

It had always been uninhabited until ninety years ago, when people from all over the world started migrating to the region. The people that immigrated were all high intellectuals who disagreed with how their native country operated. They were highly educated, critically-thinking, open-minded men and women. Dubbia has not yet been recognized as a state but is expected to be so in the near future. For now, the region is still considered no man's land and its population is considered a tribe, holding just over 100 000 men, women and children.

However, as Dubbia was inhabited by the world's brightest minds, it had all the technologies and science theories that had been discovered so far. Due to this, Dubbia had an incredible, scientific advantage over other countries and it quickly got its place between the world's scientific and technological leaders, still regularly discovering scientific breakthroughs and announcing them to the world.

Because of its population, it has a small but stable economy and they have no army. This is, according to their ideology, how it is supposed to be. Due to their infertile lands, they are very reliable on trade routes in order to have food and luxuries. They have strong border securities and we have no religion; heck, we're anti-religious, but not to a grave extent.

Dubbia is a neutral country that will do anything to avoid war and conflicts. It can find an ally in any country that acts like Dubbia would; neutral and reasonable. Dubbia has not one leader, but five. Although all inhabitants of Dubbia share the same ideology, big decisions are made by five annually elected leaders that share the power over the region. Hypothetically, if the leaders would ever have to make a controversial decision, they will give their power back to the people and hold a referendum.

Small villages are scattered across Dubbia. There is just one big city; this is were all the great scientists are settled and where big discoveries are made on a weekly basis. This city, called Bodi is likely to become Dubbia's capital once it is recognized as a state by other countries.

In the east of Dubbia, near the borders of Sentinel, a village has also started to grow into a fairly big city. The place had always been haunted, which -of course- attracted dozens of skeptics. After doing years of research, they discovered a fluid metal that was no where to be found in known chemistry. It was called Perm and appears to have unnatural powers, although we are still far from understanding it.

TL;DR: Smart people moved to an infertile region. Dubbia has a small population but is one of the world's scientific leaders. It is neutral. A weird fluid metal called Perm was found in the east but no one knows what it is or does.

In this game, alliances are defined as an agreement in which a country interferes militarily for another country's interests. If you want to make a free trade agreement, or a non-attack agreement, you aren't in need of an alliance. But if per say, you want to make sure that other countries will help you out at war, you need to establish a formal alliance.

Alliance members are limited to 6 (this includes yourself). You may be part of multiple alliances, but beware, fate might make you pick some day... Keep in mind that at the end, the winner isn't an individual but an entire alliance. If you're a member of multiple alliances, there will be a stage of the game in which you will have to leave/betray some of them.

I would want to elaborate on the concept of directives before the game starts so all participants have a clear understanding of the game dynamics. Please keep in mind this isn't a strictly ruled game and there might be place for exceptions and changes in certain rules depending on what's most favourable for the game.

A directive is an action taken by a participant or various participants, these refer to actions with an impact to the dynamic of the game. In the moment a directive is submitted, a substantive action gets in course. For a directive to be started up, it must be approved by @Kozimobo and I. You are limited to write maximum three directives a week.

In this game we will be employing five different types of directives. These delimitations don't imply you cannot take actions outside the frame of these "standard" directives but they help show the intended course of the game.

  • Military Actions: Military actions are used to attack other participants. They must include the following details:
  1. Participant/Alliance performing the attack(s).
  2. Participant/Alliance being attacked.
  3. Provenance of the troops.
  4. Amount of troops used in the attack.
  5. Place(s) of the attack(s).
  6. If it were to be used an attack strategy, it should be specified. (this last point will drastically increase the chances of a directive being successful if it is well justified.)
  7. Date
  • Strategic Movements: Strategic movements are essential actions during war, these should be used in a way that benefit the process of war. Some examples for strategic movements can be sending spies, infiltrates, interference to communications, kidnapping someone, establishing bases, etc. Anything not directly violent but related to war fits into this category (unless it's defense, which is a separate category).
  1. What the strategic movement will be.
  2. Place(s) where it will be done.
  3. Date
  • Humanitarian Actions: Used in the case the civil population is affected and is in need of humanitarian resources.
  1. What the humanitarian aid is.
  2. Provenance of such resources.
  3. Total amount.
  4. Date
  • Defense Directive: Used in the case a participant is found under attack/is in need of reinforcing their defenses through the use of troops/weapons.
  1. Participant being defended.
  2. Provenance of the troops.
  3. Amount of troops.
  4. Specify if the defense will be active or passive.
  5. Additional strategies. (Increases the chances of it being successful.
  6. Date

About the date, we will give you the starting date on Monday when we officially start the game. And about the troops, each one of you will be given your respective army sizes on Monday as well. You may dispose of such troops however you want.
You will be able to start sending your directives on Monday! To submit a directive, you must post a reply to this same thread. Here is an example of a directive:

Republic of the Elivat Peninsula, May 6th year 607.

Military Movement

The Republic of the Elivat Peninsula declares war on the Marieken Kingdom. The president has commanded his army to attack the southern coasts of the Marieken kingdom. 20,000 men have been sent into battle, each one equipped with chain mail armour and swords. The mobilization will start on May 7th, at 3am in the morning. They will be sent from the peninsula in boats into the mainland. The soldiers will make use of catapults to destroy possible enemy ships guarding the zone.

And this is an example of our reply if the directive were to be accepted:

The Republic of the Elivat Peninsula managed to take control over almost all the southern coasts of Marieken Kingdom. The defences were not prepared for this attack over the sea. Marieken Kingdom has lost over 4000 soldiers that defended the cities and towns at the coast, but got pretty fast killed. The archers from Marieken Kingdom could kill around 3700 men of TROTEP. In the battle on the ocean found 38 ships their grave, with 6 ships from TROTEP and 32 of Marieken Kingdom.

Southern Coasts that now belong to the Republic of the Elivat Peninsula

As you may see, they don't necessarily have to be very extensive, as clear as possible, the better. It is fundamental that you specify the date in which your directive will take place, so we can organize the timeline. It's also very important that you maintain your directives reasonable within the technological advancements of the Middle Ages. The use of magic, is allowed, if used reasonably and justified properly.

Every week we will be making an "official post" replying to every single directive, saying which ones were approved or not. And some insight about the narrative. There will also be a section in those same messages called "Crisis". A crisis in this game is an event that @Kozimobo and I have decided to happen which will contribute to the story as a whole. Crises might include revolutions, protests, diseases, natural disasters, etc.

Needless to say, please don't forget @Kozimobo and I will be taking decisions about directives and crises objectively, to contribute to the dynamic of the game. And if you have any objections about our decisions, please let us know!

Positives:
Nurses and medical attention is very important. Tore cesme is the tower where all medical researchers and healers live and work.
Poor people get supported a lot to find work and involve themselves in the community.
The Royal family exists out of a king, his wife and 6 children. If the king dies, his children will fight to death for the new spot.
There are multiple types within the army and people without jobs are forced to join the army until they find one. Volunteers are also very important.

Negatives:
The focus is not on killing or concurring, it’s about forgiving people, and that’s not always respected by other countries. Some abuse it.
There is a lot of money the king his children get, but once they run out of it, there is no other way to finance the country.

Landscape:
There is only one really live-able part of the country and this is where most of the people live. There are some high mountains, but not many people live there. No one even knows who those people are and they are very anonymous.

Relations:
Bringmezhorizon, Dylaila, Remi and Rivenaul are teamed up.

State religion:
A form of Fraldarius. Praying to the god that made their world is very important for the people here, but the goddess of health is also an important person. It’s a form of Fraldarius.

Political ideologies:
Mainly socialism. Everyone has the same rights and satisfied people are happy people. Sometimes there can be a bit liberal rules, but it’s overall socialism.

Finly, that's the name of MY country. Finly is located in a snowy landscape with lot's of trees. There are also high mountains that cannot be climbed. It's a monarchies country with no friends... The land of San is a big, friendly island with lots of San's on it. We know how to fight but also know when not to fight.
Our land is flat with one big mountain in the middle. An entire city with castle has been built on top of this mountain.
