Why is everyone praising this update?
This update is bad.
1)They jacked up the prices for Artillery, Mages, Ice, and Archer when they really didn't need to be.
2)You can only place one fucking leach tower?! That's is dumb. This is for each player, IF I place one I only cant place another, another player can.
3)Different pathways for towers is a neat idea and but towers such as Artillery cant do enough damage to mobs making a pain in the ass to deal with.
4)Upgrading different mobs is cool and a neat idea but you cant kill the mobs in time before they get past a tower. Since different towers don't do enough damage to mobs this makes it a pain in the ass when they mobs are near the castle and they are at full health.
5)Some of the game modes like Hardcore and Armageddon suck, and with the prices being jacked up ton I cant place quick towers like Archers, Ice, Mages, and Artillery that can kill those mobs in time. This means that the mobs can get to your castle even faster it seems and are at nearly full health and destroys your castle a lot faster than before.
6) I do like how they down graded the price for the goldmine which means you can buy more towers faster and upgrade them faster.
7)In order to buy the different tower pathways you need to get POINTS!!!!!!! This means you have to grind for the points in order to make your towers do enough damage to the other mobs.
8)I CANT /votekick players!?!?! WTF!!!!!! I cant vote kick a player who is either not playing the game right and placing the tower wrong. Yes they do have a tutorial but I don't think any new player is going to want to do that and it makes playing the game much less fun if you don't have players talking chat and communicating with the other teammates. Also if you have teammate who is an asshole and do as you ask you cant vote kick them.
9) You get Necro, Quake, Sorcerer, Leach, and Turret without earning POINTS!!!!!! This takes away the experience of oh shit we have to get more exp to get mobs who can get pass that tower.
10) The new map designs look sweat and cool, I like the pathways the mobs can take and involves more moving around instead of staying in one spot
All in all the update (in my opinion) is a let down with the changes that I have to get use to. the update is a 5/10. I will still play the game mode just because its one of a very few game mode that a lot of people enjoy. If you agree with me leave a like and if you don't like it then go away no one likes you. I'm just kidding you are in titled to your opinion just like I em.

Tower Upgrade Trees
We’ve implemented tower upgrade paths, a lot like the well known game bloons. You can now choose the path your tower takes. You can use your game points to unlock the path you want - This can be purchased by using the shop in the game lobby.

Depending on which path you take, artillery towers can now plant landmines and mage towers can rain fireballs! We want you all to have as much fun as possible trying out all these amazing tower paths and finding your favourites. Unlock them all, experiment and rain destruction on your enemies!

Tower stacking prevention
We understand that not every new player will know what to do straight away. They're new and they're still learning in many cases. As a result they sometimes place mage towers or ice towers directly next to eachother. For an experienced player this can be quite frustrating, and in many cases, causing you to lose the game.

We got your feedback, we've understood it, and this should no longer be a problem! We have implemented a radius that detects how close you can place a tower next to a tower of the same type.
  • Ice - 12 block radius
  • Mage - 8 block radius
  • Poison - 15 block radius
  • Quake - 10 block radius
Tower builder menu redesigned
To keep everything simple, we have used consistent colours across all towers, so you can easily identify what ability it uses. We've also kept all the 5 x 5 towers on a separate line.

We know that you, our community, love voting options and mixing up your games! So, here you have it! We're introducing voting options in Tower Defence, so you've got so many more options and style of gameplay. Check them out below:

    • Double income (Everyone gets double income. Double goldmine. Double coins per kill. Double exp per mob sent.)
    • Funding (+2000 coins and +100 EXP on start.)
  • Gamemode (Obsidian)

    • Survival (Automatically spawning monsters (99 waves))
    • Hardcore (Towers take time to build. Castle health is at 20%. Troops have 50% more health. Guards disabled. 5 second Summoner cooldown. Armageddon starts in 15 mins.)

    • Wither (Spawns wither (5k health, regeneration))
    • Lightning (Random towers destroyed.)
    • Horde (Lots of strong mobs spawn.)
This is how Survival will look, wave after waves of monsters will be sent until they overwhelm you. You can also add to this and grow the wave even bigger! Waves will be sent periodically, which is shown in the boss bar. It will show you what mobs will appear in the next waves in the scoreboard, giving you some time to prepare you defences to fight against the mobs specific weaknesses. Best part is, this is only one of the many options!

Mob changes
We’ve shuffled around the menu to make it clearer and easier to use. Once you select the mobs you wish to send, the cage will glow to signify when you can send your mobs.

You might be thinking that there doesn’t seem to be as many mobs as there were before - However… When you click the 'Nether Star' you will open up a new GUI menu which allows you to upgrade your mobs!

As soon as you have the resources required the glass pane will change to orange. As you upgrade, the mobs aesthetics may change. They will become stronger! For example when you upgrade spiders to a higher level, you will unlock the ability to summon invisible spiders.

Tutorial
One of the big things with Tower Defence is that it's a game that takes a lot of learning. Tower Defence requires a lot of strategy and in order to help our wonderful community understand the game better, we have improved the tutorial massively. You can now access our new and improved tutorial in the game lobby using the glowing bookshelf. This helps experienced players as you will no longer get the issue of new players trying to do the tutorial during your actual game. Here is a preview of how it looks. We have made a very simplified map which you can explore and navigate around by completing your assigned objectives.

The builds
For a while now, we've been thinking about introducing a new gameplay mechanic to Tower Defence. With this update we're happy to announce we've introduced multiple routes! These will help make your game more challenging as you have to defend against monsters coming for you from multiple lanes.

We have decided to only do this for all the new maps. Further to this, to make it simpler for all newcomers to TD, we have implemented a checkered pattern on every map thanks to your feedback.

General tweaks
  • Sidebar has been improved, EXP and coins will always stay in the same place
  • /votekick - Due to community feedback and it being abused we decided to remove it, since we have implemented tower stacking prevention there shouldn’t be a need for it.
  • Your castle will now display its health
  • Game-end fireworks removed due to lag
  • Improved golem mechanics
  • Various client lag prevention techniques:
    • 50 arrow spawn packets per second
    • Particle cap. Mentioned in game settings
    • Survival mode mob cap (200 alive). Waves pause until cleared
  • /share (or /send) now free for all
  • Removed ‘The true challenge' achievement due to conflicting issues with all the new content
  • Players who purchased towers before will have corresponding towers' levels unlocked
  • Severe changes to tower prices, tower abilities, troop prices, troop kill rewards, troop health, etc. Pretty much everything was changed to some degree. In the hope to balance it all

Wish we still had Vote Kick. Every match i get into 1/2 the team are Retards that spam lvl 1 Ice and Mage towers everywhere. It ruins tower setups, in which Vote Kick was my teams Saving Grace.
