BedWars bedwars map- mistake or art?

I had been playing bedwars for a long time, and i have been noted that on the roof of the base there's two pillars like shown in images. Why in most of the maps there's only one pillar without only one block.

After thinking a while I realised that it maybe made so the player can climb and get to the roof, with that block it can be hard to climb.
OR is it a "art" ?

What do you guys think about it?​

I think you are right it is probably there for gameplay reasons. The extra block or second pillar makes it easier for players to climb up to the roof without needing blocks or special items. If the game had one pillar with a gap it would be a lot harder for players to get up to the roof in some situations.

The game probably has the block or second pillar to help players climb up to the roof. This makes the game more fun for players because they can climb up to the roof without needing blocks or special items. The extra block or second pillar could also be, for design reasons so bases look balanced. The extra block or second pillar is most likely there to help with movement and give players more ways to attack or defend the roof. The gameplay reasons are a part of why the extra block or second pillar is there.
