What staff are going to do is irrelevant to see if the suggestion is good or not. The majority of suggestions here have popularity, staff just don't implement it for some reason. I don't see the point of being a 1.9 server, it's a controversial PvP version, and the majority of popular servers use 1.8.
It might have a financial downside however...although I have no clue.

It is literally going back to what they already had, not making new stuff.
Unless of course management was stupid enough to delete all that.
