I’m going to talk about why inappropriate people are reacting to everyone on the forums. I don’t like it and this hurts my feelings. We needed more word filters on names. We do not have enough word filters to block inappropriate content. We all know that we’ve got more developers on board. I don’t know if the admins or developers can handle this.

It’s a bad fit for our community if you register a forums account with an inappropriate username. They don’t agree it and can block your account indefinitely. This is against the rules and can violate Terms of Service. I would suggest that if you register an account that isn’t inappropriate, we agree and we are welcome to the forums.

The problem is that staff are offline at night in the UTC time zone. The default time zone for CubeCraft is UTC located around the UK. It’s somewhere in Europe. North America and Asia members have a problem and can attack anyone on board without staff online during off hours.

A lot of inappropriate people reacting and abusing the likes and reaction scores to increase other people’s reaction scores. This is simply not going to count as a staff member removes all inappropriate user’s reactions. If you abuse it, nothing will happen. The reaction score stays the same after the removal.

Oh so you mean those trolls that appear once in a whole with inappropriate username, reacting to every post and commend they see? Luckily those reactions by these trolls will actually disappear after staff member bans them and deletes their reactions, or at least that's what happened last time someone gave me like 30 reactions. Just by going to https://www.cubecraft.net/account/reactions you will see all the reactions you have at the moment.

If there are still some reactions left from these trolls, they should be removed and you can probably contact any moderator via forum dms here: https://www.cubecraft.net/conversations/

Also always if you feel like someone is targeting you personally with these reactions, you can also make a player safety report here: https://www.cubecraft.net/forums/player-safety.124/
But I'm quite sure that these are just some kids who got banned in the past and are now just making troll accounts because they got angry at Cubecraft, or something similar. Well that's at least how I see them :D

I understand what you’re saying, and yeah, it can be annoying 😕

People using inappropriate names or reacting in a weird/spammy way definitely doesn’t feel right on the forums. It can make the environment uncomfortable, especially if it feels targeted.

That said, I think CubeCraft already has rules against inappropriate usernames and behavior, so those accounts should get handled once they’re reported. Maybe the main issue isn’t the filters themselves, but how fast things get reviewed.

About reactions, I don’t think people can really “abuse” them in a serious way since staff can remove them anyway. Still, I agree that spam reactions can be unnecessary and should be looked into.

Overall, better moderation speed and maybe improved filters could help 👍

And now that manual approval is enabled by the admins. The problem should help fix it. I visited everyone’s profile with active members.

What on earth is this? A user has made a threat account that significantly breaks the Terms of Service. It is considered as an inappropriate username and can potentially breach the rules. It’ll act similarly to an inappropriate username. The ban should be permanent.

I am an innocent member and I followed the rules without breaking them. An admin said, they removed all inappropriate reactions on my profile. I love it. No more inappropriate reactions on my profile! I got so happy for keeping the community safe!

Inappropriate accounts under account approval, they don’t agree with it. The account you registered inappropriately will always be rejected and your account will be blocked indefinitely and we are not welcome to the forums. Inappropriate accounts include swear words, hate speech/slurs, threats, and stalking. Using these can violate Terms of Service and can lead to a permanent ban everywhere. It includes Java, Bedrock, Discord, and Forums.

Appealing a bad fit for our community ban will always be denied and we cannot accept it if this happens on purpose. A bad fit for our community is a serious ban, not by accident.

If you want to be welcome to the forums, you got to ensure that you make an appropriate account that doesn’t break the rules. Wait for a staff member to approve your account. It should take a few hours for your forums account to be approved. Sometimes an admin can approve it in just a few minutes if they’re online. If an admin accidentally rejected your account. Stop making another one. You need to contact an administrator if this error happens.

Not sure why manual approval to create an account would have been removed in the first place, I mean you have to have manual approval to change your username.
Hello.
Yesterday, we reactivated manual approvals for new Forums accounts, so this should significantly resolve the problem.

It's been over 3 years since I reached #1 on the EggWars leaderboard.

Time flies, and I really miss the 2018–2023 Java community.
