Hello Players & CubeCraft team 👋

I would like to suggest a small but very useful feature: a command like /re or /rejoin that allows players to return to the last game they were playing.

Sometimes a player's connection crashes or they disconnect accidentally while they are in a game. When that happens, they currently can't easily return to the match they were playing, which can be frustrating.

Suggested feature

Add a command such as /re, /rejoin, or something similar.

This command would automatically reconnect the player to the last game they were playing before disconnecting.

Example

I’m playing a game like SkyWars or EggWars.
My internet crashes or I disconnect.
I reconnect to the server.
I type /re.
The server sends me back to the same game I was in before.

Additional behavior

If the player is still alive, they rejoin normally.
If the player already died, they rejoin the match as a spectator.

Why this would be useful

It helps players who disconnect because of internet issues.
It prevents frustration when leaving a match unintentionally.
Many servers already have similar rejoin systems.

I think this would be a great quality of life feature for the server.

I agree that this would, in theory, be a great addition to Cubecraft for people with genuine connection and crash issues. However I feel like this would do more harm than good, due to people abusing the system.



Potential benefits

- For players on a win streak, a feature like this would be the dream, as they could rejoin and not lose their streak.

- Prevents frustration, as I'd get really annoyed as well if I'd lose a game I was totally going to win due to connection issues or a crash.

- Great for the quality of life!



Negative side effects.

- Players could leave during combat when they are about to lose, and simply rejoin afterwards

-Players could go to a dangerous place on the map, mid in Eggwars for example, and stay there until other players come, then leave and rejoin until the other players are gone again, easily farming diamonds.

- It would be very difficult to determine whether a player actually crashed or had connection problems, or if they intentionally disconnected to gain an advantage.

- Implementing a reliable rejoin system is likely quite complex. It would require the server to safely store and restore player states within active matches. That seems like a significant amount of development work for a feature that may introduce multiple negative side effects.



Overall, I would love a feature like this, but I don't think it's salvageable in at least the foreseeable future. Great suggestion though!💙

One possible solution would be to leave a villager (or NPC) with the player’s name in the game when they disconnect. If the villager dies, the player’s inventory would drop just like if the player died normally. Many servers already use similar systems and they work quite well to prevent abuse.

When the player rejoins the game, they could simply be treated as dead and respawn normally if their egg or bed is still alive. For example, in EggWars or BedWars, if their egg or bed is still there they would respawn with the normal respawn timer, just like if they had died.

I understand that it could require some development work. However, this suggestion is quite commonly requested and many large servers already use similar systems and manage them very well. Even if a few small bugs appear at first, they could simply be reported and fixed over time. Once those small bugs are resolved, the system would run automatically.

We should reset his enventory exept armor or something else. And if deathmath or else starts... it simply just can not join.

This is a fantastic suggestion! I also wanted to make a suggestion about this but then I came across your suggestion, so I will comment on this why I think this should be added and/or how this can be added.

It’s really annoying that when your game crashes or you accidentally disconnect, you can’t easily return to the game you were playing. That can be really frustrating, especially if the match is still going.

Example

I’m playing a game like SkyWars or EggWars.

I type /re.

I do not think this should be added to solo games, as those are already short and individual-based and to ''leave a villager (or NPC) with the player’s name in the game when they disconnect.'' shouldn't be how this should be added. I will say more about this later on.

I saw that your suggestion is mainly aimed at Java, but I think this could also be useful on Bedrock. A lot of Bedrock players have connection issues sometimes, so this would be a great feature for them aswell.

I totally understand where you are coming from, but this can all be countered with a simple solution: when a player rejoins the match, they could be treated as if they had just died.

For example, when they rejoin they first spectate for about 5–10 seconds. After that, if their team still has an egg, they can respawn normally. If their egg is already destroyed, they would remain in spectator mode just like any other eliminated player.
This would prevent players from abusing the system during fights while still allowing people who disconnected because of connection issues to return to their game.

I totally didn't steal this from Hypixel, woopsieee!

I can't look into CubeCraft’s development resources or know exactly how their systems are built, so it might be more complicated than it seems from the outside. However, I do think that a feature like this could significantly improve the player experience and overall quality of the server.

I’m not developer myself, but since similar systems already exist on other servers, it seems like it should be possible to implement something like this on here as well. Even a simpler version of a rejoin system could already make a big difference for players.


The only downside I can think of right now is the fact that cheaters who get KICKED (not banned) by sentinel can also rejoin. This could be countered by simply going for their egg. To add, in EggWars there aren’t that many BLATANT cheaters, and if there are, they often get banned anyway and even without a rejoin system, there usually isn’t much you can do against a cheater in the first place.|

Great suggestions, I really hope this gets added to the game! I doubt it will, but atleast we tried...

When I wrote my response, I did not consider the feature being like as if you died. That changes everything!

I do agree with @GiGaGekkies that this wouldn't be a good idea for solo modes, but for team games, this would be a huge QoL improvement!

Both of y'alls responses really made me rethink the entire suggestion, because the both of you made some really great points. I've come to the conclusion that I do agree with you to some extent. I believe this can be a great feature, but would need a lot of tweaks (such as cheaters who got kicked being able to rejoin) and bug preventing and fixing, development wise. Hope to see this one day! And well done on convincing me :)
