1.8 combat plugins for java.

Hello cubecraft friends

I'd like to make this suggestion for Java folks as it would be great in the long run.

It would be a good idea to put a plugin that makes the player choose the combat mode to use and it is more comfortable to play.

There have been countless suggestions about this in the past, and I personally don't think this will happen. CubeCraft has already communicated not wanting to pursue this in the near future. I personally think it's a feature that a big "minigames" server like CubeCraft is on a recent version, allowing more and newer content. There are still countless servers that work with 1.8 combat, and I think CubeCraft not doing this makes it jump out of the mass.

I get where you're coming from and there are probably some others that want to play Cube's minigames in 1.8 combat, but I don't think the average player base will be eager to play in 1.8 nowadays.

You can read all about why they updated to 1.12 in this thread, as well as in this one.
The above threads and reasoning are why I'm disagreeing.

I agree with response above me. Cubecraft is a not a 1.8 combat server. That also attracts a lot of people to it.

Other thing is that if we split this up the rounds will take twice as long to fill. This will take a while especially at night (CET). Since a lot of cubecraft is european or near to it this means getting a server full at night will be somewhat impossible since the player count will be devided over 1.8 and 1.16.

Imo it would be a very smart move to add 1.8 modes to the 1.12 server as the Minecraft Community clearly like 1.8 pvp way better

Creating this would mean a majority of players would use 1.8, and 1.9+ will get very few players, because 1.8 is so loved. Unfortunately a lot of players aren't going to accept Cubecraft's decision to close 1.8 style PvP. You dont see a lot of decent 1.9+ PvP servers, which is very unfortunate, but it makes Cubecraft unique, it may mean its not the biggest server in the world but Cubecraft is doing their own thing, not following what other big servers are doing. If this were to be implemented or Cubecraft were to go back to 1.8 style PvP, I can say right now that I would leave, as would a lot of other players.
