Remove pearls?

They add nothing, ruin everything, they should be removed.

There are people who are very good at using TNT to create a nice head start so they can run. There are people who spend hours practising their archery skills, so that if they need to escape someone in SG they can pull off a few punch bow hits then get away to heal. There are people who are excellent at using lava buckets/flint and steel to set someone alight to slow them down so then they can create a larger distance and heal up etc. Other players like to use water. Some players don't even use items, they just know how to climb hills quickly, get boost sprint jumping in 2 block high gaps etc.
These are all skills that people spend ages practising so that they can use them in SG, its a very technical game. Enderpearls completely nerf this, all you have to do is aim somewhere random and right click. Enderpearls existing in SG is a huge "f you" in the face of all the people who have practised all these techniques, that is why I feel they should be removed. For the people who still want them, please explain why

I voted for no, but I don't really have any argument other than I don't mind them. The original thread only said "they add nothing and ruin everything", so not really anything to argue against.
I didn't really have an issue with amount of ender pearls that were in the old normal sg loot. It's an easy way out of a fight, but you don't usually have too mayn of them, especially if you didn't kill many players. And in survival games having your target escape isn't nearly as frustrating as it is in skywars, where they might be on a far away island with no bridge to it. In survival games walking anywhere is easy and relatively quick, so the pearl provides a smaller advantage.
I woulnd't say that they add nothing. It's adds another mechanic to the game, making it less boring and giving it more replay value. If I play sg I don't want to play the same game over and over. They can be used to attack as well as escape. And they are part of vanilla minecraft so to me they fit in the game very well, suvival games always feels like a faster version of vanilla combat and should use as many of its mechanics as possible.

They can be used to attack as well as escape.
The only times people use enderpearls to speed up the game, is by chasing those who pearl away. All they really do is make the game last longer to be honest. Ender pearls aren't even all that useful in SG since there's no void danger or anything.

According to that, we should add tipped arrows, all kinds of potions, fireworks, end crystals, villagers, hostile mobs, iron golems, boats and minecarts as well, since they're all part of vanilla after all.

I do not usually play SG, but I would not eliminate the Ender pearls. I do not have many explanations, I just vote no.

That's subjective, they don't do that for me.

Fireworks, villagers, iron golems and minecarts aren't really part of vanilla combat, so no. Hostile mobs would make a good world event, I think there is supposed to be a zombie invasion event but I don't remember seing that in game. End crystals would be difficult to balance. I would really like tipped arrows and more splash potions, as long as they are balanced. Lots of potions would need to have a much shorter duration, especially poison.

I agree that the Ender Pearls are WAY too annoying to deal with. But, there are some pro's with this. Like Lez said, you can use it just to get up a hill faster, not necessarily being used for PvP. The main problem is the fact that your many efforts of trying to kill people are futile if they just throw the pearl to get away.

But, I don't think they should be 'removed'. I think they could be made a lot more rare and when you find them, they aren't in large quantities. The are EXTREMELY annoying in OP. It's already hard enough to kill people in that mode, adding pearls makes it impossible. Either remove them from OP mode or make them extremely rare.

For Normal mode and Hardcore mode just make them rare. They aren't a huge problem in normal mode because it's easier to kill people and pearls are already harder to find.

Alternatively, create an additional game option that completely removes them, regardless of the mode you choose.

They're already removed from hardcore and normal mode completely. Only OP still has them.

You're missing the point. It's so obscenely hard to kill people in OP. It makes it impossible when they pearl away. That's why this suggestion was made. Add them to normal if you wish, remove them from OP.
Yeah I too don't understand that logic. Surely if they HAD to be in one gamemode, it would be basic and not OP
