It's a nice idea. It would prevent "bump" messages. I like the idea of an autolock but I see problems with it (CCG Memes). Maybe only lock them if they've not been posted on for a while.

Bump button? Yes button. I hate posting just to post a bump with no additional info whatsoever, and there's nothing I could really do other than letting a thread die out.
Since necroposting doesn't apply to game threads, they could just simply blacklist threads under that section from being autolocked, no? Same goes for news post. I'm not sure how this would affect the godly meme thread since it's under "Everything else", so that may have to be a thread blacklisted on its own.
Autolocking would be great.

Yes to both!! and... bump!
And threads that necroposting doesn't apply to would of course be an exception to the autolock, that's the whole point of it's existence is to decrease necroposts and make it so the mods don't have to waste their time locking threads for being posted on after 2 years.
