Maybe you can add ender chests and wood blocks to change up the only obsidian egg defense. Also, they should make a time limit because some games last all of eternity.

There are plenty of blocks, like hay and glow stone as well as normal chests which you can use to cover up your egg. And having a time limit, in my opinion, will make the game less fun and is not intended for eggwars. am sorry but I am going to have to disagree, Good luck though and enjoy the rest of your day :)

I like your first suggestion: Add wood.
But the game don't needs a time limit.
Why should you cover you egg if you have a time limit?
This will make the game less fun.
