Which ideas would you think work?

Everyones seen them, dealt with them, etc. I think it would be a nice addition to the server to kick players under certain conditions.

1. The user has a constant 1000+ ping to the server for 1 minute or more
2. The user sends x amount of attack packets while standing 9+ blocks away from player they are attacking

The 1st one I am almost certain devs can find a way to set it up, it just needs to check a players ping, then kick them. There is only one problem I can see with this, if the player is connected to a middle man that connects Router -> 3rd party system -> Cubecraft this ping could be inaccurate, an example of this are WTFast, WTFast can have 5 ping to CC but you may have over 10,000 ping to WTFast and the server cant see that.

The 2nd one is a bit more problematic but seems simple enough to me, if a player is hitting players from more than 9+ blocks they are clearly using latency to their advantage. I am not a developer and have hardly any coding experience but this seems possible.

The Reason I suggest this is because if someone is getting their packets a whole second after they are sent they clearly aren't having fun and if they are sending packets a second later their opponents aren't having fun either.

Laggers stink I would say these two steps would prevent a lot of them, keep in mind most numbers I mention in the thread are just rough estimates and shouldn't be regarded as the end all be all.

Also, I am aware that there are certain mechanics that kick people that are laggy, however these are not kicking players judged by lag but rather symptoms of it, instead of kicking players that are having delayed packets they are kicking players that don't send all packets or too many packets.

Also auto kicking laggers can help cause sometimes it looks like uve got anti kb but really ur jsut lagging hard +1 to this idea

If a player actually has one second delay it doesn't matter anymore. They will have a huge disatvantage and probably stop playing anyway. If they try to attack someone that is more than 6 blocks away the server will just ignore that. If you get attacked by seomeone more than 6 blocks away you are either lagging yourself or they are using tpaura.
I am playing on a US server sometimes and usually I have a ping of 110 to 120ms. A lot of people complain about my reach there. Yesterday something was messed up and I got 140-150ms ping and in my experience it was way worse. At best I got the same reach, but at worst I got stuck in blocks or my hits didn't register. I think at some point far before 1000ms the delay becomes a disadvantage and at 1000ms it's such a big disadvantage that I don't even worry about those players anymore.
I even get called a lagger frequently on cubecraft where I have a ping of 30 to 40ms.

Edit: I voted for the last option because I think it's useless to ban for 1s ping or "9 block reach" that is prevented by the server anyway, but I don't think it would be hard to develop at all.

No , because when I get 800 ping I can abuse it so hard. Back in feb it was like I was so mlg like a ninjarino and the FFA plebs were getting murdered like a bruce lee movie in slo mo it was epic . Everything was slo mo , they looked back when i was in front and i stabberinod them so hard

I agree with kicking players with 1000+ ping and they hit from 9 blocks. This would make the game easier

To be completely honest I could have just said 500 ping but I understand some people's internet get lag spikes so that would be unfair. also TPaura does not work on any server with a decent anticheat, you usually get kicked for flying or other reasons, don't ask me how I know.
I am not sure about CC but a lot of servers have methods of preventing reach, however these don't work because they account for small amounts of latency so you can still 4 block people, so I think the second one can pass, also I downloaded and tried out jigsaw on a solo world and reach only goes to 7, also in some videos I've watched they go up to 8, otherwise 9 block reach is impossible without TPaura (which I discussed you would be kicked for) and latency. I would say kicking for reach is a bit iffy but that's why I made it #2 :P

I'm pretty sure a ghost client will kill a lagger most of the time. I also think that lagging isn't really an advantage in itself, it makes the game more random and it also requires slightly different gameplay that probably only laggers will get really good at. I lag on the us server I mentioned before and a lot of people complain about my reach. One day a guy killed me every single time and I couldn't figure out how, later I learned he was using a ghost client. Even a little extra reach will probably be enough to completely turn the game against a lagger, the lag works in both directions pretty much the same way.

Exactly , most of the time my lag backfires. Last time it worked was back in Feb. However I have never come across someone with a ghost client

I find players with high latency much harder to beat, however I think the idea of them having an unfair advantage is false.
Like @MagnificentSpam suggested, it's different gameplay that the 'lagger' is completely used to, whilst in my opinion the reason why a non-lagger will have difficulties is simply due to them not being used to the lagger's knockback delay etc.
Therefore given time and practice a non-lagger may be able to adjust and level the playing field; the only difficulty is that a player with ~200ms will still act very differently to one with ~350ms.

Are you all admitting yourselves that you're not good enough to play the game that you need to kick them out to fit your standards? That's not how things work in life. Some people will always have an advantage at others. Of course, fighting people with bad ping can be difficult, but you have to change yourself instead. Whenever I play against someone who has a bit more latency than usual, I realize and I play differently to "overtake" their standards. This is probably one of the worst threads in my opinion that I've seen get the attention that it now has.

Latency should never be a skill to deal with.
Welcome to my daily life. Every time I get on Cube there's always 1 person with very bad ping and guess what? I deal with it and think of a way in killing the guy legit. As I said before, play differently to "overtake" their standards and don't lower yourself to the point where you have to kick them out for not fitting your standards.
