hello i guess this is considered software...
how do i get a texture pack?
now i know i am supposed to download it then put it in the %appdata% file under .minecraft labeled .recourcepacks (or something like that) and i tried putting it in there zipped AND unzipped....
back in 1.6.2, when i put a pack in there, it showed up under options. but, when i put one there now, it does not appear. I tried all different things...
is this abnormal, or am i just doing something wrong?
and i looked it up on google many times... i would just like some personal responses for this.

Hopefully someone can give me some answers, and linking good tutorials would be nice also.
thanks!

oh and i am using 1.7.2 because things higher don't work for me... does that have anything to do with it?

Make sure it's a resource pack, first of all. And it works for me when I keep them zipped.
And the easier way to do it is just to do it like you're opening up a resource pack, and it should say "Open resource pack folder."

Here's the image
Sorry my cropping skills suck.

So you know how to get to .minecraft, next, click on it, then click on your resource packs folder and drag the resourcepack into the folder, make sure the resource pack is .zip btw, then, go in your minecraft client, go to your options, click the resource make (near the picture of it) and it will swap over to the right side, now exit our of the options and your dome! Sorry if i get anything wrong, i use mac so the folders may be abit differant.

It also may not work because of the resource pack, have you tried others? If my comments don't help, like Morgan said, head to YouTube..
