The forums used to be a place where you'd go to meet people with similar interests as you, or to propose a super cool suggestion about reintroducing Super Craft Bros, yet I haven't had a single conversation on here in years. In fact, I think the last time I had an actual conversation with somebody was in early 2015, and that was because my friend couldn't access Skype when she was in school. There are a number of pet peeves that I have with the forums, many I would wager that you can relate to, and given how much time I waste on this website I'd like to propose ways to resolve them.

The chat restrictions
Initially, the chat restriction was increased by 50% to counteract the massive surge of spam bots that once occupied every section of the website. Personally, I don't think it's fair to punish the legitimate user-base for the actions of one or two people that have decided to target the website with advertising bots. However, this isn't even a problem anymore! It makes no sense to keep the chat restriction at forty-five seconds, since now it's only hurting the genuine user-base. I propose reducing it to say, fifteen seconds or so.

Keep in mind that one of the greatest appeals of this website was to be able to meet people that have similar interests to you. We're all here for one reason, after all: we still like Minecraft (it's tragic, I know). We should be able to speak to one another and host conversations, but this currently isn't possible because of the chat restriction system.

Lack of activity
There are so few people that use the forums compared to servers with only a fraction of our player-base. Seeing familiar faces is neat and all, but seeing only those faces isn't; the forums needs variety. I propose promoting the forums in-game via frequent announcements in hubs. To draw an even greater crowd of people in, you could even promote it through giveaways and competitions (more on these below), as well as adding more features to the website.

Competitions
I would love to see more competitions on the forums. They could be related to art, story-writing, video-making, quality screenshots, tutorials, best suggestions, etc. What I think would be fascinating, would be to host a competition whereupon players create suggestion threads in a new area of the forums. The best suggestions are then taken, and are voted for in-game. Whichever suggestion gets the most votes is actually implemented onto the server, with credits going to whoever initially proposed the idea. This way, you're tackling two birds with one stone; you're promoting the forums, and are releasing an update that you know the community wants.

New profile features
We should be able to link our in-game accounts to our forum accounts. Imagine how many possibilities this would open up! First of all, we'd be able to display our ranks on our forum profiles, but better yet, I think we should be able to view somebody's in-game profile via their forums profile. We should even be able to see what other people are playing at the time, or when they were last online in-game!

I have created an example of what a profile might look like via my MLG-Superstar Paint skills, below:
upload_2017-8-12_20-49-11.png

As you can see via the screenshot, there are three notable differences:
-You can see what the person is doing on the server (if online): '"Snap" Exotic_Athena is currently: Playing Super Craft Bros [Arcade]' (Bit hard to see in the screenshot, but it's above my profile picture)
-You can see the person's in-game rank: '[Diamond]Snap'
-You can view the person's stats for every game: 'View Cube Record'

You would, of course, be able to hide these details via this menu:
upload_2017-8-12_20-52-0.png

If Cubecraft ever receives a new website, these are just a couple of features that I reckon should be considered for it! :)

User forums
I reckon that once we reach a certain message / account age milestone, we should be able to create our own sections of the forums. Anybody can view it, but only you can create threads in your own section. That way, you can create a fantastic and organised list of your greatest threads, that can all be viewed in one place.

How to access the User forums:
upload_2017-8-12_21-4-51.png

Inside the User forums:
upload_2017-8-12_21-12-49.png

Obviously the list will keep going down at this point as more and more users create their own sections. It'd also be handy to be able to go straight to somebody's user forum via their profile.

I would love to have a place to put all of my suggestions, where I could revive any of them at any time without having to worry about necroposting rules. It would certainly be a unique feature :3

Thnx for reading, pls appreciate the effort that was put into these quality images :)

Oh, also mention whether or not you like these ideas. If you don't, I'll kill you c:

How many times have I suggested something like this. (Except the User Forums part though. That's pretty neat tbh)
Yes!

I absolutely love the profile features, I like the idea of being able to see what rank someone is by clicking on their profile and I'm also a sucker for stats (which people should be able to hide of course.) furthermore showing where someone is would be amazing.

It's not everyday you see good suggestions for the forums of all places, so I tip my beanie to you for these suggestions.

When I see a good suggestion. :>

This is absolutely perfect. I agree with you, I don't see many good thread posts anymore. I would love to see ranks, even though that has been suggested many times before, and also where you are in game. The only part about the in game option is that it will have to track hundreds to thousands of players, which will take time to develop and will\might cause lag. I like this idea, so, yep!

The only thing I like is the rank prefix before the name. Other than that, I think we are fine. We are so used to the regular forums that the new changes all at once would totally confuse everyone, good idea though.

Let me start off by saying I love the idea of improving the forums and find this thread to be very thorough and well thought out. Now that I have said that, I will comment on a few of your ideas on the things that I feel could be a bit different, or just to say why I love the idea. This is all my opinion, which does not change how much I love this thread. (:
The chat restrictions
Initially, the chat restriction was increased by 50% to counteract the massive surge of spam bots that once occupied every section of the website. Personally, I don't think it's fair to punish the legitimate user-base for the actions of one or two people that have decided to target the website with advertising bots. However, this isn't even a problem anymore! It makes no sense to keep the chat restriction at forty-five seconds, since now it's only hurting the genuine user-base. I propose reducing it to say, fifteen seconds or so.
Okay to start off with, I agree the chat restriction can be a bit constrictive and I would love to see it reduced. Although 15 seconds seems decent, I am leaning more towards 20 to 25 seconds just to deter spam, while still allowing people to post at a decent rate.
Lack of activity
There are so few people that use the forums compared to servers with only a fraction of our player-base. Seeing familiar faces is neat and all, but seeing only those faces isn't; the forums needs variety. I propose promoting the forums in-game via frequent announcements. To draw an even greater crowd of people in, you could even promote it through giveaways and competitions (more on these below).
I like the idea of this, but at the same time I would get rather annoyed with the announcements for the forums repeatedly going off. Instead of having them in chat or flash on the screen, maybe they could put it in the main lobby's bulletin board or have it announce it when you first login. That is due to the fact that the repetitiveness of the announcement, since you could not toggle it off, would get rather frustrating for everyone, especially if you are already on the forums.
While I could see the appeal of this, I personally would not enjoy having this on the forums. That being said, if they added it I would probably not hate it either. It is one of those ideas where I could have it and be fine or not and still be fine. It is very creative though and I like the concept of it. (:
New profile features
We should be able to link our in-game accounts to our forum accounts. Imagine how many possibilities this would open up! First of all, we'd be able to display our ranks on our forum profiles, but better yet, I think we should be able to view somebody's in-game profile via their forums profile. We should even be able to see what other people are playing at the time, or when they were last online in-game!
Okay, I love this idea! Then if you had the account linked, there could be a way to shut off the announcements, but only when the account is linked? Then I could see the announcements being a decent idea. I would love to have the in-game ranks of players on the forums, even if it is not completely necessary, just to add another simple perk to being a donator. Being able to see what others are playing could be a decent idea, but I could see some issues with it and then everyone toggling it off to avoid getting followed, more directed towards staff that tend to be followed and spammed. That being said, since you had added that you could toggle it, I would not mind this being implemented and yet at the same time if it was not added I would not see a problem with that either.
User forums

Anybody can view it, but only you can create threads in your own section. That way, you can create a fantastic and organised list of your greatest threads, that can all be viewed in one place.
I love this idea quite a bit, but would that count towards your message count as well? I could see the spam that could occur in these threads and would think that it should not count since not everyone can join them and the spam would allow people to farm messages quite a lot. That being said it is a decent idea and one that would be a unique feature to have since it would allow the flow of creativity and discussion with minimal restrictions like necroposting, although I have not had too many issues with this rule.
Thnx for reading, pls appreciate the effort that was put into these quality images :)
The ideas and images were fully appreciated by me and this thread was really well thought out and written. Overall good job on this thread and your suggestion (:

Since this forums is built on Xenforo, I believe the feauture for linking accounts is really easy to install (I played around with xenforo a bit a few days back (actually it was mainly @Pandaa)). Itd give you a server IP on the website for the user to join, the server would give you a code, entered on the website and boom, linked.

The profile features are straight up amazing. You looked at what people have suggested thousands of times and got them to work on a profile. Awesome!

Again, Snap, pair up with @hub3rt or something, you have really innovative ideas and take a lot of time to work them out so that others can get a clear view of what you're trying to say. Just great :)

Here's another suggestion for the forums: the ability to view anyone's in game stats on the website. And if you link your MC account, your stats will be visible in a tab on your profile page.

A lot of other forums do this, and I think we should to :).

Already gotcha covered:

I swear this was a thing once already though, in like 2015. Can't remember the URL, but I think they might've scrapped the idea, not sure why though.

I better like this before you'll kill me.
But I really do. Especially the new profile features, i would like to see the rank of the member in their profile.
Not sure if I like the idea of their online and ingame status, its either handy or annoying (hmm stalkers?!) soo its nice to toggle it. So wouldnt mind to see this added!
I think promoting the forums in-game isnt a bad idea, as long it isn't too often (spamming).
The other ideas are amazing too!

I like the [Rank] feature on profiles, but maybe it could be a little messy because of how many donors we have. (Good idea tho)
For the rest of the things you mentioned, I agree and would like it to be added in :)
