Maybe Canada
For all the other players out there who like to pvp then u will know what im talking about.
PvP use to take a degree of skill (talking about 1.8.9 and lower)
U use to get awesome combos on people and have to keep them going with skill, some people say jitter clicking is easy and doesn't take skill when it actually does(many of u will disagree with that).
As many of u have noticed in the recent updates in PvP/fighting you have to now hit opponent and then wait a second
(ok maybe not that long but when ur fighting it feels like that)
before u can swing again to hit the person.
Yes I know u can still jitter click but this makes ur weapon deal little to no damage in OP pvp.
I remember In 2012 and 2013 when that's how noobs would fight "swing.....pause...swing..." and for using that tactic they would be rightfully punished(get rekt by some1 who had skill) sense it such and easy tactic to master......well now that being able to combo and jitter is kinda gone its basically letting the noobs take out skilled pvp'rs, and they don't get the chance to build up their skills.
The new pvp doesn't completely but limits the effectiveness of strafing, now trying to run around a guy whos also doing the same thing and having one swing per second makes it nearly impossible to 1v1 some1(im sure u other PvP'rs have been in this situation, running in circles now not being able to land a hit on the other guy that will do a heart of damage.)
So I just thought I would bring this to the Staff's attention that maybe there should be two separate kinds of pvp, 1.8 and 1.9?

Yeah I know there are other servers out there who do 1.8 pvp and believe me I've been on them and played... but I also like this community and I know others do and also feel the same way about the recent pvp update(b/c Ive heard others complain about it)
I understand If you guys wont do it, actually I know u probably wont make the change seeing that the pvp community isnt the largest on here, but thought that if I feel this way and so do other pvp'rs I would bring it to ur attention.
Thank u for ur time and have a wonderful day/night

There are already both types in most games. For Skywars and Egg Wars, you can join the server in 1.8. For PvP, you join in 1.9 and there is an option called classic where you can 1.8 PvP. I agree, 1.8 requires way more skill than 1.9, a reason why I only play 1.9 as I can't jitter click.

No need to lock really, allow people to discuss the ops concerns regarding 1.9 PvP.

With regards to you believing that 1.9 PvP now requires no skill, in my opinion you're very wrong :O Combos and strafing are extremely important and allow you to pick off a player without them getting a chance to hit you.
Of course, for people who were heavily into the previous PvP mechanics, the new way would take some time to get used to, but with enough practice I'm sure most people will see that the PvP update requires plenty of skill to defeat your opponent.
With the previous PvP mechanics you had to get right on top of your player and use your PvP tactics (spam click DAT mouse) to defeat your opponent. That is where a lot of people make a mistake with 1.9. You want to be far from your player, close enough that you can hit them and strafe/combo them and they'll be lucky if they get a hit on you. The closer you are to a player when trying to do this the more difficult it will be due to them possibly starting to spam click and break up your combo.
Timing your hits is crucial to getting the advantage over your opponent, just because the sword has a cooldown of 0.60 seconds doesn't mean you have to wait for the full cooldown to hit your opponent. Obviously the closer to the cooldown the more damage you will do, but attacking just a fraction earlier can still deal over 75% base damage, and can give you an advantage over other players.
The best way to learn and get better at the new PvP mechanics is to keep practicing and try to play with some better PvPers.
I used to be awful at PvP but after spending a lot of time with more skilled players, I'm much better now :)
Look to the future guys, forget the past :P

I believe that both 1.9 and 1.8 PvP requires some degree of skill. 1.9 teaches you to time your attacks, as well as being able to actually land them. 1.8 is pretty much who can get the better combo, and who can strafe the best.

But as mentioned above, there is already a 1.8 proxy which you are able to join on. Only Skywars and Eggwars are available though, but I believe that they are going to make every PvP minigame into 1.8. :)

Blablabla a thread about 1.8 again you should all be extremely thankfull Cubecraft made Sky- and EggWars 1.8 again in the first place after many months of complaining. I bet if Cube will be 100% 1.8 and 1.9 I will barely see like 50% of my Friends after that.
I'm already disappointed that people came back only for 1.8 and not the community or the other Updates.

In other words: Keep only Sky- and EggWars only 1.8 and 1.9 and maybe Survival Games aswell but nothing else.

Ok, well cubecraft does have the 1.8 option of duels. Also, the main reason why cubecraft went to 1.9 is because , they wanted to be unique because, every server stayed in 1.8. So, cubecraft switched to 1.9 for that reason :). Finally, I'm pretty sure cubecraft staff are working on making a 1.8 and a 1.9 version of cubecraft. But, with all of these new maps with 1.9 blocks, it'll be hard to make a 1.8 version because, A: The builders will have to make new maps especially for 1.8 which will take a long time. B: Or, they can not use 1.9 blocks which would make their builds a little more boring. But, I'm pretty sure that they're working on a full 1.8 version for your enjoyment :)

Just Saying:
I can PvP in both gamemodes...
I'm better at 1.8 but I prefer 1.9...
So stop complaining about the 1.9 PvP and deal with the change...
Seriously...
Do you still remember when Food was added every was like ''Noooo!'' ''No unlimited spriting anymore...''
And look at us now Food is just a normal thing in Mc...
Anyway if you still want to enjoy the 1.8 PvP eh...
Be sure to do this:
What's the problem?
Also there is a Classic version in some 1.9 Gamemodes...
Before you join the Classic version I have to warn you,
You will be dissapointed if you like 1.8 PvP...

noobs take out skilled pvp'rs, and they don't get the chance to build up their skills.

Dying to noobs you say?
Noobs spam click in 1.9 guaranteed, and if they actually delay their swings, they can't aim for turd.
What you're saying is that if you get beat by someone that knows how to 1.9 PVP while you're only good in 1.8 PVP, you call them the noob? just because they're better than you at 1.9 PVP? Kind of dodgy, right?
If you're a "pro" and can't build up your 1.9 skill, it makes YOU the noob (1.9 noob, if you're good with 1.8 you're fine)

I would like to add that the swing pause swing method is for players that are new to the 1.9 fighting system, after a certain level of experience, fights are a lot more fast paced and deeply rely on aiming + timing skills as well as strafing to avoid opposit attacks... Any good 1.9 and 1.8 pvper (good in both gamemodes) will recognize that both versions require their seperate set of skills, if you are dying to "noobs" it's that you haven't adapted to 1.9 pvp or are trying to adapt your 1.8 pvp skills to 1.9 pvp, 1.9 does have its combos, trust me.

No need to use the word "Noob" and this is a silly forum post, like really, there is a 1.8 Sky Wars and Egg Wars, which have a lot of hackers... Also 1.9 does take skill and a "noob" like you said doesn´t kill a pro player just because he is slow or can't fight very well, you need to be really good to fight in 1.9 like really, timing, aim, criticals... In 1.8 just, slap your mouse and end your fingers.
NOte: If a noob takes out a pro PvP player then the player is not pro and the noob is not a noob ;)

Are you implying 1.9 takes no skill? Pls @TheJeroen pass me the oxygen mask
I remember In 2012 and 2013 when that's how noobs would fight
I've been playing this advanced lego game mishmash since 1.4, and noobs have always spammed, they always will.
swing.....pause...swing...
That "Pause" is around just a third of a second, exactly the same time it takes for a mob to go past the "Damage protection" phase.
You know, when you attack a mob, it becomes red and can't take damage while it is colored.
It's been like this since 1.8.
1.8 Beta, I mean.
In 2011.

So even if you did indeed click faster in 1.8
The damage inflicted is still the same.
Only thing that changes is, you can't spamclick hoping to hit someone in the overall chaos, you need to time them with accuracy.
And once you get the hand of it, it's really a superior fighting mode.
In my opinion, atleast.

Fights are still very intense and not "slow" at all.
