This post will be about respawning in eggwars

I'm sure you all have faced a game where there's campers, and then when you get to their island, you can't get to their egg because they keep respawning to break your armor and kill you with fists just to lose to a bunch of campers in some stupid way because you had no egg!

What do I think they need to do to get around this?​

It's quite simple, really!
All you need to do is add respawn timers!

This feature could single-handedly fix two issues!

1. Respawning again and again to punch you until you finally die.
2. Kit farming! This issue is not very major, but it could be partially fixed with a respawn timer. This would make it less rewarding.

Extra thing I want to talk about:
I don't see how this could possibly have any downsides!

I will add a poll having two options:
1. Add a respawn timer
2. Don't add a respawn timer
Do NOT forget to add a reason why you're against the respawn timer

This suggestion is made to punish death more than it currently does.
If you fall off the bridge and someone is crossing, it's your own fault.
If your base is under attack and you died, it's preventing you from causing the problem that I'm trying to balance out.
If you come back to life to protect your egg only, you're one of the causes of this problem.
I expected that to be self-explanatory

Let's put this into perspective:

Spoiler: Map - FAIRGROUND

Map - Fairground
You start a game where a team gets diamonds and breaks the bridge, then starts camping.
You kill both of your neighbors and then go to mid to gear up.
You take out one of the remaining teams.
In the middle of that battle, your egg gets destroyed by someone that sneaked up on it.
You take out the remaining team with caution.
Team nr.6 has been camping for the entire game.
You try to bridge as much as possible, they delay the whole move by 15 minutes.
You finally get to their island, Kill everyone there, go to their egg and try to break into it.
One of the players happens to have the shell cracker kit.
No matter how hard you try, they keep getting every time.
They eventually break your armor.
You die and they win with an egg.

How is this even fair?

But what if someone is running to your islands and while chasing him you fall in the void? He's on your island and you can't protect your own egg. I get the idea but this could be negative in to many ways. What I sometimes do is build myself in with obsidian and then destroy their egg. If they respawn they can't get a diamond pickaxe in a few seconds. So maybe this tip could help you in the future.

This suggestion punishes death, if you fall into the void that's your fault, not theirs.
If you die in a dumb way and it happened to be when your egg is in danger- that's your own fault.

I don't like this because when YOU are the plebs punching the stacked guys it is kind of important to respawn. As annoying as that is, it has to work from both perspectives. I have killed multiple stacked people by chasing them when they try to retreat and knocking themselves off.

Those ideas were examples. But like @RockBob4 said, you need to watch it from both perspectives. What if you are the person that needs to camp in order to protect his egg? Do you still agree with what you said? I know campers are annoying but it isn't a bad thing to do, it's just a strategy.

Yes, I keep my word!
I've been on both perspectives and it's just not fair.

Using the problem as your opinion not to add it doesn't seem like a good reason to me.
It's literally a completely unfair way of losing.

I've never been doing this, mainly because it's not I'm against people doing this in general.

And in the game in general? You say it's against campers but what if you play a normal game without campers? Every game is finished in 5 minutes because you can easily kill your neighbour without him protecting his egg. Obsidian would be useless at that moment because someone can easily break trough your egg without even spending diamonds on a diamond pickaxe. Or what about chests? Normally chests are used to get gear and weapons as fast as you can while respawning so you can defend your egg inmidiantly. But if you have to wait like 10-15 seconds, or your egg is gone or your chest is looted.

I think you should just deal with the campers. I'm sure the other players who wanna play the game normally would disagree with this idea. Like I've said, campers are annoying, but it's a part of the game. You can't just take it out or try to reduce it.

I do not think this is a good idea after reading the comments. We have all been the noob who punches people off who are stacked. Its just a way to defend your egg. While it is annoying, it gives both people a fair shot.

Who said that it's impossible to kill campers? Anybody can kill anybody (unless if there is a hacker). There is no need for a respawn timer I mean you can always just barricade yourself so that they can't attack you while you are in there.

Obsidian is the best. Your poor team mate that is with you has to survive the minute that you are getting their egg though. Bring gapples!

By the time you get that one killed the third musketeer will show up with a weapon and some armor with a pickaxe.

It seems like you are talking about op. But cmon there is an effective 7 pickaxe. WITH TEAMWORK HOW IS IT THAT HARD?!?!?

I disagree because it's a rather impractical way of dealing with campers. I think you can just, as said above, trap yourself in obsidian and break their egg. And I don't see the harm in Kit Farming. Most kits are very cheap (golden apples= 2gold; blocks= 2irons; potions=not as useful)

I think that it is meant for you to be able to respawn quick enough so you can keep defending your base, or else it would be too easy.

I think the timer should be instant for the first few deaths and then increment in duration the more deaths occur.
Otherwise really good suggestion, +1
