I don't think an anti-cheat will fix the fly hacker problem forever(since they update with the anticheat) so how about making a in game rule, like how you can't break blocks? I don't think any hacks have broken that rule yet.

Research/experimenting:
Doing some test I have found that you can only fall for about 3 seconds before dying if you land in hay bales, around 2 seconds without hay. Using creative mode fly as a way to test fly hack I got that withouth sprinting you can move about 35 blocks while flying, and while sprinting you can go about 65 blocks.(in 3 seconds) Meaning that it should insta kill you after 3.5 seconds of falling/being in the air since you won't live after that time.
I believe that in most maps 65 blocks is enough to get across in time so I suggest that the islands should be moved enough so that 65 blocks can't reach it +10 blocks.

Thinking about it players are not ussually over the void unless they fall, or are building out. So if they could make it so that if you are more than one block away from another you start taking damage every second.(if you are over the void)https://imgur.com/a/tSF2C The cobblestone block shows where you would start taking damage. Reason for that distance is so that it does not kill you if you shift out from a block.

TLDR; Make a rule so that when you are in the air for longer than 3.5 seconds it insta kills you. Make it so that if you are more than one block away from another you start taking damage every second(not sure how much).https://imgur.com/a/tSF2C

Note:This will not work on op since you guys gave the armor so much protection that it would take about 1-2 more seconds in order for the fall to be fatal.

I would agree but extend the time to like 4.3 seconds. This is just so that i don't get insta killed when I build a tall tower in op mode and jump down from it. If there is and insta kill system, then there is no need to start taking damage after moving one block away from the map blocks. Extending the island would make the game longer and for some people, that is a death sentence. But i do agree that we should have some sort of rules that that could prevent this sort of hack. I think this is a great idea but I would like a small change in your suggestion.

Dude the reason it's 3.3 is because if you are falling for even 0.1 longer you are dead even if you mlg hay bale. The reason for the damage is so that you can't build out and then fly. It would only be about 20 blocks, so it would extend it by like 5 mins maybe?
Edit: this won't work on Op because they made it too op :/

I just did a quick check and sadly protection affects fall damage.(why Mojang?!) Mlg hay bale is to place a haybale right before you land so that you can fall farther and not get killed, like the mlg water bucket but you still take damage. If the person has not enchants on the armor then if they are in the air falling into a hay bale longer than 3.3 second it will guaranteed kill you. If you are not using a hay bale it would be around 2.3 seconds before the fall is fatal.

hay bale lets you take less fall damage, I see what butter is saying and I think this could be a great idea if the staff took time to work on it, but who knows, maybe this is what the staff are currently working on. Lets just see if what they come out with first works, then if it doesn't or we think of something better then we can suggest it

Although you might not see it, this is actually already part of the anti-cheat. I've watched some videos of hackers, (and personally) and I see them not being able to fly a lot. They don't get killed, but they get tp'd back some. Idk what the exact time is, but it seems around 3-4 seconds.

I think that is part of the hack, not too sure becuz ive never used hacks but it seems reasonable that there is a "lag back" feature that lets u lag back up to the bridge or such

Reason I did not notice this is because they ussually make it it across. They should put the islands further apart then. Or maybe its a feature of the hack like comment above said.

Since armour affects it idk how the insta kill timing thing will work.

Its not a part of the hack,its the server trying to prevent them from flying. Lagging back up to a bridge can happen without a hacked client though. If the connection is poor, you can sometimes end up back on a bridge after you fell off. That used to happen to me when I was playing with poor internet and a lousy laptop.
Now I have a good computer that I built, and a 65mbps internet connection, and I hardly ever have lag :D

Its not a part of the hack,its the server trying to prevent them from flying. Lagging back up to a bridge can happen without a hacked client though. If the connection is poor, you can sometimes end up back on a bridge after you fell off. That used to happen to me when I was playing with poor internet and a lousy laptop.
Now I have a good computer that I built, and a 65mbps internet connection, and I hardly ever have lag :D

Lag back really annoying especially for the ones that don't hack. Luckily cubecraft fixed it.
