I personally would like the ability to see BAN/MUTE Appeals because if someone was wrongfully muted/banned and someone was there and saw it, they can post it on the thread. so it's fair. the 2nd reason isnt really anything but some are just straight up HILARIOUS. So why not just bring them back to public view? Bringing it back has A lot of benefits.

That goes against what you say ;)

But public viewing might not what the people who are muted/banned want. They want a fast way of sending a private appeal to their corresponding person who banned/muted them, instead of them being spam tagged.

That didn't really help much when it existed. It'd be a couple of people telling a couple of their friends to go "I agree they don't hack", and the reply to stuff like that is usually the pointing out that they can't give any evidence of that, and that they're probably being told to say that by the banned person. For when it was relevant with when people had evidence that they weren't hacking, stuff finds a way, usually they'd start a conversation now. If they want to give evidence against, trust me, they will. It's easy to find the forums from the appeals, and people who appeal are told who banned them. But, mostly the stuff other people had to say was a couple of their friends arguing against it because it's their friend, and that barely helps in an appeal.

This isn't really a valid reason. It's not exactly the nicest thing to do, laugh at another persons pain and anger. Them being private also gives them more confidence in them making them, because it's more private, and making a public ban appeal, for some people, may be nerve wracking. Ban and mute appeals aren't a name and shame for banned and muted people, and they're not there to be a laughing stock for everyone to see.

Considering that the system it currently works with isn't exactly gonna turn into a "name and shame" section of the website (frankly just disrespectful to them), the way to bring them back to public view would be the old thread way.
  1. Because it's much tidier this way. If you think back, appeals have gone a long way. It used to be tagging everyone to find out who banned them, then it went on to knowing who had banned them, now it's gone onto a simple interface that's easy to go through. It's so much tidier and easier.
  2. It's easier for people to appeal with this system. They can see why they were banned, by who, and they can type in a message. They don't need to sign up for a forums account, so it's so much easier.
  3. They're more likely to be seen by staff on this system. Being tagged on threads can get lost among other alerts, especially when staff go on holiday and come back with hundreds of alerts, possibly thousands (thanks everyone for that)
  4. It's soooo much easier to resolve them. Just trust me. So much easier.
  5. It stops people from appealing 50 times after being denied. (srry Typo you would've been screwed)
  6. It's just so much better this way

I think this covers everything, lol. The current appeal system is much tidier and a lot easier to use and will probably not be changing any time soon.
