Hey. Some of you may already know that I play minecraft on a really, really bad laptop. I'm trying to find a good laptop that I can buy. I need something with decent performance but please not an expensive gaming computer :> . I have had a look online and I had no idea where to start (there is just too many oml) so I would like opinions or advice from people. Also I'm happy to pay up to about $800 (AUD).

Thanks!

You won't really get a good gaming computer for up to $800.

You can:

1. Buy a Mac
2. Get a rubbish windows computer
3. Buy an acer/asus computer they're kinda good.

Do you want to play games other than Minecraft? Or just Minecraft?

I have a laptop which is really good and not THAT expensive... Well, if you're able to spend €1.200 (about 1,5k$ I guess) you'll get yourself years of amazing performance and looks (and an SSD!).
Try ASUS N-series, always had ASUS and it's the best you can get in my opinion. There are also cheaper versions which are a little bit less OP but still really good.
I feel like an ASUS Brand Ambassador now... dunno why.

Have a look at the Aspire laptops of Acer, a lot of them are 'regular' laptops, but can handle games very well.

I was looking around and I found one that looked pretty good. Do you think it looks okay?
I'd go for some more RAM/storage space, maybe 8GB RAM and 750GB HDD?
Also, make sure to get a good graphics card, if you're not just gonna play Minecraft (I've no idea what 'UMA Graphics' is, lol)

Why do you need to know? ;)
After searching for a while I found this. http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/comput...7-k251na-17-3-laptop-silver-10107442-pdt.html It's pretty decent laptop and for the price you couldn't go wrong. It has windows 8.1, Intel 17-5500U processor, 12 GB Memory, Nvidia Geforce GTX 850M and 1 TB hard drive and 8GB SSD. It's £798.97 converted into AUD it's way over your additional budget. I don't think you're going to get a high end gaming laptop or a mid ranged price for a budget of that standard. The gaming industries expensive :p
