I just watched two videos that gave me the nostalgia, X's anniversary video and AntVenom's Peaceful Map Look. Those brought me back to the days when Minecraft was so simple, yet so fun. The days when everything was better, the YouTube videos, the survival series, the people. It seems today that all in Minecraft I see are YouTubers just screaming and making ridiculous statements to entertain, trolls and hackers, and quick minigames that are shrugged off like nothing. Before, there were big projects that are so simple now, redstone contraptions that can be built easily today, and just...so much stuff. Looking back, I remember what Minecraft used to be, so simple yet so amazing, and it almost brings a tear to my eye, seeing these big YouTubers going to back to the good ol' days and being sentimental, and just taking a break from the craziness of Minecraft today to appreciate what it used to be. The old textures, sounds, even music brings back memories. It's beautiful to see that even our most famous YouTubers still can take a break and just do a long, calm video. Sorry if this sounds cheesy, but it gives me nostalgia of how much has changed in Minecraft.

Gawd, I wish they weren't adding the Guardian or rabbits! That's going to ruin the whole experience for me! How am I going to safely cross oceans now?

Yeah, but remember the days when oceans were just....oceans, and they weren't cut down on size or anything? When you would just sail on a boat looking for a little bit of land, and you would only find squids to accompany you? Now we have swamps, and jungles, and mesas, and while the boat riding seemed annoying back then, it's nice to take a calm ride instead of traveling through the hectic terrain and 15 different biomes every few minutes. Dang, even the old mob noises brings back memories, before there were rabbits, horses, or even villagers.

I remember my first time playing Minecraft, which was the Pocket Edition. I didn't know what to do so when it was nighttime I dug a hole in the ground, but then I saw monsters in front of me, and my heart literally sank. I was like "0_0 I didn't know they could dig to find me!" because I didn't know they could spawn in darkness... Good times.

Same here. I joined very late, around 1.4.5 or so, but after seeing videos of what it was like before, I wish I had bought it earlier.

Back in my day when minecraft was good.. Nah Jk. Tbh I liked the idea of minecraft back then, it had so much potential and the beta was so exciting, I used to love waiting for minecraft updates for my single player survival, now I dread them because they just break servers. Its weird that I miss the constant world holes and flying squids. But I do prefer minecraft now, it's incredible what the community has made it become, it used to be just a game to me, but now it's a hobby I guess. Testificates are still the stupidest thing ever added though, even the name... Such mad.

It is amazing what us Minecrafters have made. Grand builds, incredible redstone contraptions, and amazing animations and songs. I do like what Minecraft has become, and it has come a long way from that simple sandbox game that Notch thought of. Many things have been invented to make the gameplay better while things have slowed us down. I dread that Minecraft is turning away from the correct path it has followed for many years now, with decisions like the EULA and adding things in, like rabbits, that go against the original simple intent of the sandbox game Notch made. I hope that the future stays strong and that Mojang can give updates that are reminiscent of what Minecraft used to be.

My favorite thing ever was probably the old Minecraft music....it was so calm, vivid, and yet....powerful. Memories of old servers, old friends, and the music I can still hear faintly in my head brings a sense of remembering what it used to be.

I loved the noise you made when you fell, everytime that happened I had to try and mimic it.

One of my fondest memories was when I used to play on one of my first servers...It was a famous YouTuber's old server, and I used to play survival games and stuff on it. It was one of my favorite servers, because the donators got creative and often they would fly up and have drop parties in the lobby, and they would drop gold nuggets and things, where we could parkour to a crafting table and craft armor, and swords, and just walk around just snazzy, when we weren't supposed to have the stuff in the first place, lol. Ah...and the survival games servers. I met some of the nicest people on there, and one day I found a random guy and we teamed in a survival games match, on a map, Vareide's SG 4, which is my favorite, and most well-known map to this day. Anyway, we would team and meet up, and it would happen for a few days. One day, I never saw him again, but I still remember his username to this day, a year later. The_MineZ. I met a new friend, and even if we split up, it was a great experience, meeting someone kind in this virtual game. And the survival games was great, and it actually felt like survival games. This was before crazy plugins and twists and stuff like that, before Minecraft developed and changed survival games and made it like something else. That server is gone now, and the YouTuber has a new one that is nowhere as good as his old one. Since it's gone, all I can do is remember, and if it came back exactly the same, I would jump back within a heartbeat. It had it's glitches and so, but I think that only made it even better. It might seem cheesy that I'm sad over a server that has disappeared, but I made memories in that server, and it was the first and favorite server I ever had since I got Minecraft.
