Why is java in new combat and bedrock isnt

Yes i know bedrock doesnt have new combat but most servers stick with 1.8 combat/bedrock combat so why does cubecraft use new combat

Why not, some people like it and for those who don't there's still a 1.8 version

What would be the point, the games will be indistinguishable, us bedrock players are very used to the fast paced nature of the game and if that was to change the competitive player-base would drop significantly...

If java players prefer the new combat they can play 1.9+. If they want the old combat they can play 1.8. Bedrock wasn't given this in vanilla and downgrading bedrock is really difficult, especially since you can only havw 1 version at a time
