Web Why do things have to be "forwarded" in order to get fixed?

Hi there.

This is going to be a small feedback/question topic:

On the forums (specifically forum feedback and suggestions), a lot of threads get closed with the reply "forwarded".
My question is why do things have to get forwarded in order to get fixed?
Can't the developer who handles the specific bugs look himself?
Is it safe to assume that things that won't get "forwarded" won't get fixed?
I mean...
Isn't the point of the bugs report forums to have the developers look there for reports? (And not the moderators looking for problems that can be solved and forwarding them to the developers in question?)

Hi,

A short version of my answer to this would be that every project needs proper organization to progress, a good leader and a team that is able to delegate work.

Developer time is extremely expensive, limited and should be used wisely. Moderators can help use it wisely a lot by moderating bug reports for valid reports and invalid ones which provide insufficient evidence/information of the bug. Then there is also our Admin team that determines which projects should be prioritized and which issues can wait for later.

The process is pretty complicated. It is not just letting the developers go check reports and fix the bugs on their own, plus work on all the projects assigned to them, and get everything done right away with the snap of their fingers :p

It would cost the developers time to look through all of the bug reports, that would give them less time to fix the problems. The most problems are already forwarded/known so that's why the other staff-members help. They'll just say it's already known.

In short, the developers don't have to spend time on answering reports etc.
