If I recall correctly, I believe they said that EggWars Season 2 will release sometime after 1.19/Party event updates release.
Edit: After EggWars Season 2 releases, they will release new seasons every 3 months as mentioned in the Season 1 release thread. They were unable to release Season 2 in November because they announced in September that they are working on the 1.19 update, which is where most of their resources are being used.
