Hypickle has their servers hosted in NA / NAW region. They might have done some things to make it less laggy for EU but there still is a noticeable delay with rods etc.
CubeCraft is most active during EU times. It's one of the biggest networks but it drops below 10k (which is still alot) while Hypickle get's around the same amount of players during EU & NA peak times. (last time I checked)
Most of the "big" servers started out as NA / NAW servers, Badlion started out as NA, Mineplex started out as NA, almost P2W faction servers (if not all of them) promoted by big youtubers (500k+) are hosted in NA / NAW. Thats why I said "Is it just me ...".
