Stricter enforcement of the "unnecessary post" rule

Today, I'd like to suggest to enforce a specific rule a bit stricter than it's being enforced now, it's something which really annoys me whenever I see it happening on the forums, and many others. Let me show you what's the cause of my annoyance.

I marked what I wanted to point out in green, so as you can see, forum user number one explains what the thread creator should do in order to report a player and if he'd like to apply, but then if you scroll down, you see four other forum users giving him (almost) the exact same advice which has already been provided by the first forum user who replied. Four semi- unnecesary messages, it's quite annoying to read through an almost identical message five times.

So that's why I'd like to request to be a bit more strict in terms of deleting messages for being unnecesary.

I'd also like to add that I'm not trying to bring down those I captured in the screenshots above, they're doing their best to help which is totally awesome, but I honestly think that the thread creator already knew what to do after the first comment.

It'd be as simple as liking the first post (if it has sufficient information) in order to back it up. Newcomers will notice it.

Opinions in support threads?
You have to give them correct advice, and if someone already has there's no point in repeating it yourself. Give their post a like to be able to give OP a reason to believe it.

I believe this should be happening. I personally used to do copy paste messages because it was quicker. But I've stopped that because it's more important to read the whole message and understanding where the person is coming from and their opinions. I try to be more personal. It also really annoys me when as you highlighted, people saying their messages and links only about the topic, not about the problem.

Honestly I wouldn't mind if staff were the only ones that could reply to support posts along with the OP. They already do this on discord and it works fine. Some people simply don't trust normal members to give them a response and always wait for a staff member and of course this happens a lot with support posts. If a player really wanted to help the player they could pm the creator or write on their profile still and that wouldn't flood the "new posts". I'm not saying the forum should be private though so people can still search up the threads later if they have the same problem.

Sadly, the support threads aren't limited to Cube issues specifically. There's lots of things that can be put there which the staff themselves won't even need to answer.
Having support threads being staff-only would mean "Yet another responsibility for staff members alone" and it'd probably be a while before a response would show up.

Greening was to highlight the post that were trying to help. It didn't imply that Cheeetah was one of the ones that said the same thing again and again in that thread, but instead it was just to show us that he's the first that said it, and then others "copied" what he said.
The green was just to highlight everyone that said that type of message.

happens often. Not everyone wants to make that one reply, and you already wrote a pretty good reason to why that doesn't happen.
Aside from that, having 4x the same message isn't more helpful than just 1 message. It's just going to make OP read the same thing again and again.

It'd be pretty hypocritical to ONLY call them out for post farming in one message and nothing else. That's about as much of a useless post as their posts.
Occasionally I and others do inform people that they can just quote multiple things at a time OR give their post a like if they appreciate. Giving tips for interacting with the forums community is great and all, but you need an opportunity to do so.
Do you ever see people calling out the ones who try to help and say the same thing 4+ times after each other? Yes. Usually on threads that don't specifically ask for the help, meaning so that people can call the "helpers"(not to be confused with the rank) out on it AND give their take on the thread.

Simple: For some people, it's extremely annoying to see this kind of behaviour, and there's a valid reason why it shouldn't happen.

I can see how this is annoying. If someone cay posts a hacker on the forums, the first post directing them to the reports website is good enough. But maybe people post it because they think it will help them get helper?

Sorry but to me, this seems completely unnecessary.

The users are really just trying to help and I don't really see why we should stop them. Sure, their replies can be unnecessary but they aren't doing anything bad so it's just a rule I don't think we should enforce.

It'd be an extra responsibility to manage and I don't really want to do that either. Mo, you've been part of the team and you've seen how time consuming reports, sentinel appeals and replying to forum threads are. I just feel as if this rule wouldn't be enforced much since we are all busy with different moderation duties and this would be another one to cover.



If someone has already replied to a question and the thread doesn't need any more replies, then a staff member will lock the thread. It's so simple just to tag a staff member after information has been given.

Trust me, I know how you feel about this type of stuff but it's truly best just to ignore players you don't like instead of starting to ban players who are trying to help out.

Almost always when it happens the one who does it doesnt even notice it because he just clicks reply and gives the best explanation possible, while other people already gave that explanation.
