Skyblock feels like a chore

I played some skyblock this morning and it was fun, but I dont like how progression is tied to completing quests. I hate doing quests like gathering Oak Logs.

Also:

No smooth stone stairs :(
No stripping of logs
Other things etc etc.

Its not bad or anything it was fun for the half hour that I played.

This is because the Skyblock servers run on 1.9 since anyone with 1.9 or higher can join Skyblock. So they cannot add something from 1.14 or 1.15, as it will cause problems for people who are not playing on those versions.
