Sculptor Quest broken (solved)

In the 'Sculptor' quest, you have to make chiselled stone bricks but you can't craft stone slabs which is needed to craft chiselled stone. Can someone help please?

You have to use stone brick slabs to make one.

and you get that from just three stone bricks in a row.

You have to manually craft them because slabs are broken
