Regarding Mage Stacking

Just want to see how many people here know that mage stacking doesn't increase DPS and how it can be fixed. Also, why do you think people stack mages?

Here are the 2 options so far:

Option 1: make mages stack and increase fire DPS for each mage near another.
Option 2: give the builder a warning if there's at least 20% overlap between the new mage and the old one. Warning shows up upon attempting to build it.

Option 2 is better in my opinion.
Also, why people mage stack?
I think it's 1 of the 3 reasons.
1. They can't understand English so nobody will tell them.
2. They know but they just stay silent and ruin people's chances.
3. Salty new players that think they know the game really well.
