Java Notch Apples Price Changes

    (Note: This is strictly about overpowered)
    I’ve noticed that notch apples have been frequently used these past 6 months, with the uprising of op - half voting.
    I believe notch apples should be 20 diamonds instead of 10 diamonds. Notch apples are insanely powerful, they basically make you invincible for 2 minutes, and in these 2 minutes you’re a walking tank.

    Let’s look at notch apples and what their effects are:
    Absorption IV - 2 minutes
    Regen 2(Not too important in OP) - 20 seconds
    Resistance - 5 minutes
    Fire Resistance - 5 minutes

    Absorption IV - Allows you to have 8 extra hearts for 2 minutes, which can be replenished by eating 1 golden apple. Since a very large majority of games are OP - Half, this allows you to have a combined number of 13 hearts

    Resistance - Provides 20% less damage intake for 5 minutes
    (Fire resistance and regen are self explanatory)
    Not only are you unkillable for 2 minutes, but you will take 20% less damage for the next 5 minutes. All of these benefits for only 10 diamonds. That’s insane

    I propose notch apples become 20 diamonds, which is the same exact price as an iron set
    In PvP, if Player 1 & Player 2 had a diamond sword, except player 1 was full iron and player 2 was full leather but had a notch apple. Player 2 would win because his notch apple will benefit him more in the fight, and roughly iron armour takes less than 2 minutes to break (Maybe this wouldn’t apply to noobs, but it definitely applies to decent/good players)

    Notch apples greatly enhance the value of golden apples.

    I agree with this because it would make notch apples less overpowered. In my experience god apples are too easily accessed early on in the game when they are meant to be late-game items.

    I do agree with nerfing the Notch Apple, but I'm not sure if changing the item price is the right decicion. Maybe make it absorption 3 instead of 4, because 8 extra hearts is just crazy.

    They can’t necessarily do that, it’ll be much harder for cube to do that.
    Notch Apple needs a nerf, and increasing the price definitely nerfs it, since players will no longer be able to abuse it
    Increasing the prices of gapple has improved gameplay, but resulted in much more notch usage.
    It allowed the notch’s efficiency to significantly rise, causing an unbalance to the game. Since gapples increased 3x in price, while notch remained the same at the cheap price of 10 diamonds. To balance things out, notch apples have to increase in price by 5-10 diamonds

    Maybe there should be change for the different versions.10 for 1.8 because it’s not all that much op and 20 for 1.9 because it really is

    Agree, but I think it should be 30. Just cause you can recicle the Absoption effect of a Notch with normal golden apples.

    30 diamonds is too much, in normal its 32 diamonds.
    10 is too cheap, 30 is too expensive. 20 sounds perfect

    I am a 1.8 player and the absorption is only 2 hearts and the regeneration is 30 seconds but I agree with you, when you have the resistence effect during 5 minutes you are a tank.

    To be immortal for 30 seconds + during more in combats for 5 minutes is VERY OP for only 10 diamonds.

    They should change the price to 15 or 20.

    The price of notch apples is ridiculously low compared to the affect it has on you. The perks are good enough compared to the price. Personally 20 diamonds is a good even Price it will also make people think when to strategically use them as they will have less to consume plus an add on to this is if the main one runs out and you eat a regular apple you get the effects again.

    Changing the vanilla code is gross when the easier and smarter solution is changing the price
