no hit glitch

so i was in a game of skywars i was winning, and at the last player (I was blockhitting) I couldn't hit them for like 10 sec then I ran away while he could still hit me. so I wanted to ask if someone knows how and why this happend

I have it too. Happens because of a server sided lag spike in which the hit's don't register any more.
Easy solution is just to switch items in your hand (from sword to bow or axe) and mediately back. Then the next hits should register.
