My money has gone into the negatives?

i was just chilling on my island then my money just went from 5k to -15k? whenever i sell something the negative number gets closer to 0 so its not a visual glitch and i cant buy anything. do i have to grind to get the money back? My username is TheRLFurBall (dont question the name i made it years ago)
