Bedrock Knockback while midair is very janky

I feel like whenever a projectile hits me or a player for that matter I go flying horizontally as long as im mid air it used to be different weird part is that it works totally normal as long as im on solid ground is this intentional? its really been ruining my experience with the pvp so I hope its just a glitch with the vertical knockback turning into horizontal knockback or something.

The knockback on Bedrock is so messed up and inconsistent. Especially when you have low ping and your opponent has high ping. You'd think it'd be the other way around.
